Re: Australian Weed Users
Depends on the state a great deal.
In SA I think it's still decriminalised. Maybe in ACT too?
In Queensland a minor possession (less than 50g i think) is a slap on the wrist for 1st offence, and you have to attend an anti-drug seminar or something (lol). It's called DDAP.
That's off the top of my head, though so it could be all outdated/wrong. The pig websites for each state should have the information you are looking for. There's also some fucked laws about paraphenalia and possession of grow books.
Few months back I read in a newspaper about some guy that got a $700 fine for possession of a grinder and a book on growing called I Loved It.

NSW sentencing tables:

Has no info on simple possession, though.

You mean in certain states you can't be arrested for possession? Only like a fine, say, like speeding or some shit? Do you anything about QLD laws regarding possession?

Re: Australian Weed Users
I've been caught once, all they did was try to convince me "hangin out with girls is better than smoking this stuff".
But then again i'm under 18 and it was first offense :D

Re: Australian Weed Users
Pretty sure that in every state there is a minimum amount that you can be in possession of that is classified as 'personal use.' =>$1000 fine if caught in that case, if I recall correctly.
Growing is pretty much illegal in everywhere but (I think) the ACT.

ACt it is decriminalized, anything under 25 grams is a $100 fine. growing is legal but it is something like three or five plants under a certain height, might be only one allowed now.

Do you know if there's a limit on how many times you are allowed to get busted before the penalty changes?

Re: Australian Weed Users
30g or less - Fine or attend a drug counselling session.
2 plants or less, non-hydro - Same again.
That's in WA.
I have a friend who is just unlucky and has been done multiple times with small amounts of weed on him and hasn't had to front a court or anything.
He did for multiple public urination offences though. It was damn funny.
