Dont worry about smoking up anywhere. People chill in the camp sites and blow bud all day(apparently other people in the thread have had different experiences concerning that, but everyone in the tents around me smoked up all the time and they never got in trouble). Youll see horse mounted patrols(they do nothing but give people looks) and cops on four wheelers, but again, its nothing to worry about.Im not saying I brazenly walked by a pickled pack of pigs on ATV's while chiefing a doobie, but youll understand the atmosphere once you get there(wont take long at all)

Centeroo(where all the stages are) has security check points to get in. The checkpoints are jokes. They ask you to empty your pockets, "pat"(Some say fuck it and let you in, others just ask you to empty your pockets) you down, and half heartedly check whatever bag you bring with you. Unless something has changed, just stick whatever you want to bring in under your hat. The head of the checkpoint I usually went in stood up with a megaphone tellings people to hide what they were bringing in because they didnt want to ruin anybodys weekend, "Just be creative".

Once you get in Centeroo you have jack shit to worry about. During the day its just a bunch of people sitting under the shade of trees smoking joints and chillums waiting for bands to start. Walking through the campgrounds you can find whatever you want with the right words. You dont even need to find it in the sense going out and looking for it. Just walk around enjoy the sights(drunk hippies and drunk stinky hippies) and wait until you hear "doses" or "headies" or whatever your looking for .

When we first got there(just a friend and I) it took us only an hour to set up our tent, get out and about, and find a ten strip.

On the checkpoints getting in:

They got me(driver) out of the car to open the trunk, he half heartedly looked in the trunk, opened all the doors in my car, looked inside, and saw a Louisville Slugger in the floorboard of the backseat that was left in there from some other occasion. It got confiscated as fuck. In my experience it wouldnt be very hard to bring in whatever the hell you wanted. I rode clean the way up and just got as I needed while I was there.

Make it a point to stay up all night one of those nights, dose up, and just walk circles around the campground looking at all the weirdos(just like you) that are still up. I saw some funny ass shit(and met some cool ass people) walking around late at night just observing.

Since you said its your first time:
-Shit ton of water is a must.
-Youll want some kind of canopy for your camp site. You might spend some time chilling there and that sun is seriously unbearable.
-When you wake up in the morning and you have to piss, hope you can hold it. The port-a-potty lines are long most of the time.
-Expect dust to get all over everything(Some camps are worse than others, like the ones next to main roads. Expect inch thick layers of dirt on your car by festival end. It didnt rain when I was there thank god, because if it does, the whole place will be a quagmire of mud and it would be just another reason to avoid those damn stinky muddy hippies.
