I always seem to be the one people pick on in a group. I make friends with people pretty easy but over time they start picking on me about shit "jokingly". I can take it once, twice, ten times, but when it happens every time I talk to them they have some smartass "joking" response which is unnecessary and just pisses me off.

It also really pisses me off because they don't really do it to one another as often as they do me. This makes me a bit cold towards them, making them dislike me and not talk to me because they think they've done nothing wrong and I get too defensive. It's happened so many times when I see all these "semi" friends around places they seem to not like me. So basically everywhere I go on a regular basis I am treated with contempt.

This used to happen to me. The group of friends I had chilled with for years, would always pick on me about little shit. It was funny stuff, but it just got really out of hand and annoyin to the point that if I was having a bad day I would just wanna beat the shit out of whoever said some stuff to me. So I just branched off and established myself as my own person, and they seem to get the point now.

I've had some of this shit happen to me in a group back in high school. Instead of building resentment, I put it away realizing that they think they're jokes are harmless while you get pissed off. It's not easy; some tough days you really do want to sock a kid.

What you do is dish it right back at them, to show that you won't be one-upped. Start hanging out more with the kids you don't see dishing it out all the time. Remember, although it might seem they are equally dishing it out, in their perception it's only some of them at different times.

Once you do this, you can increase the flak for the lead fuckers and start throwing muscle around if shit hits the fan.

Finally though, molotov everything for good precaution.

Your problem stems from a lack of self worth and self esteem. If you believe you're fucking awesome, while not putting others down, others will believe you are fucking awesome too. The vibes and signals you put out when you believe you are fucking awesome are instant signals of "dude is cool.".

Not to say you wont get tested, you will. But your response will just to shrug it off or joke with it on the subject NON DEFENSIVELY. If you are unaffected, they won't continue as there is no payoff.



As poster above said, establish yourself as your own person. This doesn't literally mean go on a 3 year Alaskan boating trip fighting sea pirates and becoming completely independent. It means not being dependent on what other 's think of you. Don't try and impress anyone. Don't hurt yourself for other's gains.

Goes like this: If you try to get others to like you, they won't.

Just spend some time with yourself (masturbation?) and try and think of all your good qualities. Get a goal (lifelong goal, hobby, girl to chase, anything). Stop worrying about the past and the fearful future and just focus in on the present moment and having fun. Smile. Not to make others smile but because you are excited about life and are excited about all that you are capable of (it is a lot).

I've found that me being good at a lot of things made me a target, cause everybody wants to knock the king off his castle. I simply quit hanging around most men altogether. Women love me.

Nowadays I don't think they do it to deliberately kill myself self-esteem (like back in school), they just do it and I am wondering why. Some of these people are 10 years older then me, but there are a few my own age who don't cop anything.

Whilst they do continuously call me annoying nicknames and having little stabs at me, they are all round nice guys, but the continues nit-picking and nick-name calling really pisses me off and I have told one of them what I thought. It's like every little joke is made, I am at the end of it.

But their type of pay outs aren't direct. It's more along the lines of them giggling and telling me to get a haircut or some gay shit. The fact that they're having a go at me doesn't piss me off, the fact they can't have a fucking 5 second civil conversation without cracking some lame joke to get everyone to laugh, at my expense, pisses me off. If I replied with "Omg you are a fat sack of shit, now aren't you?" Everyone else would get the shits with me and be like "He was just joking.. why'd you have to get personal?"

When they say things like "get a hair cut" what they mean is "I have small penis, but no one will notice that if I get them all to laugh at this guy." I know it sounds like psychobabble bull shit but I've caught myself doing it and everyone else I'm around. I bet your friends are not doing well in the departments they make fun of. Make some friends who aren't losers/ or have over sized egos and then you'll notice how nice they are.

Are all your friends complete losers? Are you the only one that has the potential to go anywhere with your life? In my ex's group of friends, there was this one kid that everyone made fun of. Nicest guy ever, probably too nice, and also the only one of the bunch going to school, with a job, potentially not being an alcoholic bum for the rest of his life like the rest of them. So they made fun of him about said things, along with other random shit, like calling him toilet. I really hated those guys. Hopefully they drink themselves to death.

Anyway, if that's not the case, then iSoape is right and you have some sort of fatal character flaw that causes people to lash out at you. This possibility seems more likely than what I described.

Well the one doing it is substantially older then me (5 years) and I have more money then him, and make more money then him.

The other one is ugly as fuck. The thing is, they were never like this when we first became friends. They were nice as hell. Then they gradually started with this constant shit, but are still nice to me in this aspect of being friends, if that makes sense. Like they will still do stuff for me, buy me beers etc.

I do have friends who don't say anything to me, these guys are my own age. So I'm wondering if these older guys feel threatened that I make more money then them, have a better job, or am not butt fucking ugly. Either way, they see me as a target and it pisses me off. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to make them stop targeting me.

Maybe you're too different from them. Large groups of people tend to pick on those who don't really conform to the mainstream, it's the nature of morons and people with no personality to just jump on whatever bandwagon is currently running through.

I had an experience like yours before a while ago. All my then-friends got into stupid shit like skateboarding and BMX, I didn't, so they all started doing the exact same shit they are doing to you. On top of everything, I have an anti-human and hateful sense of humor and became interested in things most people think are "WEIRD" (like politics, philosophy, etc) which just made "everyone" hate me more. What did I do? I told them to fuck off and looked for people who were like me and only hang out with them. Spent some time alone, but got used to it, and met like-minded people eventually.

Now I only have two best friends, and we talk shit to eachother, but its equally distributed and atleast we have many common interests. Honestly though I met them through a huge stroke of good luck.
