So I've been banging for about 4 months now and even though I'm 18 I still live with my folks. I've never really tried to hide the fact that I shoot by wearing long sleeves or anything but one of my friends thought I was out of control just because they thought that it was the worst thing ever that I'm banging but he just said I was bad on coke (I think anyways). Well this morning my mom stopped me and demanded to see my arms and I refused and she said that she thought I was doing "IV drugs." I just wanted to ask if anyones ever been in a situation similar to this and how you dealt with it.

No decent parent is ever going to condone their children shooting up. There is NO way to deal with this situation, since if you're caught or admit to it, they'll rightfully kick you out/ send you to rehab. Either give up or carry on or hide and deny your habits like any other smack head.

No offense, but how are your parents supposed to react? You're shooting up smack. Sure, it's not as bad as the media potreys it, but it does have huge addiction potential and it's unregulated. That's why I like OCs, you know exactly what you're getting.

Doing one drug and calling other people losers because they use a different one makes you a hypocrite.

I recently willingly told my parents I shot, I haven't done it in about a week though I really want to quit. Especially when you shoot .3 grams and don't get high, it sucks.

Just say you were doing roids but you didn't like the side effects so you stopped. Roids are better then heroin/coke in a parents eyes.

That's my biggest fear man.. What do you think she would do if she is positive your using hard drugs? If she would say rehab, just move out. If she just wants you to stop, then hide it.

My parents found a bag of syringes in my room when I was 13 but I was just like "I don't use them, I was just cleaning up and about to throw them away." They never said anything about it after that and seemed like they didn't care. But if they found them now, I would be in rehab until I was 18.

I guess it's also note worthy that I don't live with my parents though. But yeah, just tell them seriously man H is bad news, I was sick for days and days and it's no fun, nor are the blood diseases. I'm pretty sure I have hep c at least, donno for sure but I did share a needle with a friend that I didn't know shot, turned out he had turned into a junkie and I know for a fact he shared a needle with others that had hep c. Everything about shooting H is bad news. High is amazing but there are other drugs out there.

They're gonna freak out. You got college, your whole life ahead of you. Shooting up is probably the last thing they want to see you doing. They sure don't want to see their kid go down that road...

Now that suspicion has been raised the tension is probably only gonna get worse.

If I were you I'd limit use or wait till you move out/go to college, y'know? At least give your folks some peace of mind..

edit: I'm not telling you what to do or not to. All I'm saying is look at the situation from an outside perspective. You don't necessarily gotta stop, just let your folks "know" (either directly or indirectly-hints,etc) every thing's alright with you. Family's family man. Know what I'm saying? just out of curiosity: if you weren't living with your parents and received no financial help from your parents, meaning that you had to pay your own rent, pay your own bills, and buy your own food, would you have enough money to support your habit?
