I think I'm finally learning to stop talking
One of my major problems with girls is that I have a tendency to talk too much, to fill up silences that aren't necessarily awkward with mindless bullshit, in fact one of my practices at bars is to go around talking to a lot of women there, spending maybe two-three minutes with them at a time with each one, just so I avoid saying that one thing that is going to mess it up for me entirely.
Yesterday, I was with some Danish friends and just sitting back with them, having some beers, having a smoke. The ex-girlfriend of a friend (I'm really not trying to get into her.. she's nice and stuff, but I think that'd be crossing a major boundary) kept flirting with me and making me drink more, tried to get me to go a party with her and the others.
This could have been partly due to the way I very passively flirted (I flirt with every girl, whether I like them or not, I'm sure everybody does it) - just being playful with my facial expression and eye contact and sat back and enjoyed myself. It was as if my actions were speaking a lot louder than the few words I spoke.
What do you think? Is silence golden?

Re: I think I'm finally learning to stop talking
It takes a lame to know a lame. Is what the man said.
I don't necessarily think silence is golden, but you're on the right track. Body language is more important than actual spoken word, as long as you're not saying ridiculously stupid shit. Chemistry is more physical than you think it is.
I always thought it would be mostly about how the other person looked, and maybe a little bit dependent on personality. When in fact it can be everything from the look on your face to your posture, to how and where you playfully touch her that gets you the furthest.
Also, pretty much the worst thing you could do is try to spit game without looking/acting like you're interested. It becomes obvious that it's nothing more than a line and you will look stupid. So remember that confidence and body language dominate over language as long as you don't scare them away with what you say.

ohh....
so that's what I'm doing wrong... :(
"so, ya' ever like, suddenly wake up vibrating at a higher frequency than everyone around you and like no body gets you but you feel kinda compelled to stay in this lie that you're living even though you know its a total joke and yet everyday you break out of it a little more than the last and hey have you talked to the elves yet?"

Re: I think I'm finally learning to stop talking
Ok i could see the ADHD in your post. You were everywhere, from one side of the topic to the other. Reminds me alot of my brother. You are just going to have to learn how to stay on topic, and not talk about all the little "what-if" details that sidetrack you. It will be hard, but its so annoying to hear.
But yeah, you would probably drive me crazy if I talked to you in person. Actions do speak louder than words, so start learning.

I think he's saying I have ADHD.
I've always wanted to get myself checked out for it too. In a group situation, I get carried away, become a bit of a clown, but one on one I can be less insane. I still have to train myself to not say something awkward.
I might get myself checked out, there could be money in that or something.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Oh, and like half of the population is diagnosed with ADD/ADHD so I don't think you will be getting any disability or money for it. It's a common thing nowadays, many think it's caused by fast paced technology (Postman to name one) but I think it's just us being intolerant of creative people. Anyways, if you want to get any girl you are going to have to "tame" yourself, unless of course she is just like you. I understand your pain, because of course no one should have to change who they are to make others happy (I see my brother struggle with it day in and day out. He doesn't have alot of friends because of it however he is medicated).

Well, I got shit loads of friends.. but I'm a different person with every one of them..
Women.. yes, no.. both..
When they first meet me these days, they seem to be really into me initially (I've been told I'm good looking and charming), but I find some damn stupid way of messing it up, mainly with bizarre-ness or awkwardness.
