How does one purify water?
So I need your most ghetto way of purifying water asap.
I'm making home made chloroform.
There is no room for error, I have all the supplies ready, if this goes wrong we're all aware of what may happen.
"Buy distilled water!"
Distilled water leaves behind trace elements no matter what way you look at it.
I need absolute clean water.
This has all taken months to prepare and I can't get past the very basis for such a process to occur.
Every thing is perfect so far, i'm talking literally biohazard style sterile conditions.
I can't bring a purchased container into this environment, it will ruin all my other projects as well as contaminate the chloroform.
What I have come up with so far is the boil/freeze technique.
I can't bring foreign materials into this environment, so I must work with what I have in there already.
The boil/freeze method states that when freezing occurs in water, the impurity become more apparent therefore if I were to bring the ice to boiling point in a short amount of time, the impurity would effectively evaporate.
Repeat a large amount of times with a large quantity of water and it becomes fairly pure, more so then factory distilled.
Also I cannot filter it, the filter would add it's own trace into the mix.
This really is the most complex way of making this I could of come up with, with the equipment I have available, most of what I do depends on the water.
The whole success depends on the waters purity, there is no point to explain, you don't need a chem lecture from me.
Recap:
- No outside materials can be brought in (heavy security and contamination of other projects).
- This is less then legal, this must be rather inconspicuous althoe I have done some other high risk things that would be considered noticeable.
- I have access to basic lab equipment, lets keep this fairly ghetto any how, for I must sign forms to use much equipment (OH&S issues).
- Every thing is ready to go by tomorrow, this is the last thing.
Thanks for your help.

Sedatives are hard to legally come by, I don't want to spend a fortune and i'm getting tired of climbing into bed gingerly avoiding my work related injuries.

Re: How does one purify water?
1.) First of all this is the wrong forum to be asking this question.
2.) We're not going to help make something like that anyhow since you likely want it for no good reason.
3.) Lastly, Doing it ghetto and having no room for errors are pretty exclusive of each other.
