Losing my mind?
So since last December I've been just playing around a little with Hallucinogen drugs. LSD twice and Robos about 5 times. And since then I feel that I've started warping my brain a little. Like in my residual life I sometimes have that altered state of thinking and being. I feel like I'm going a little crazy at times. Now I know that I'm no major acid hippie to be locked up in the looney bin forever, but for just the small amounts of what I've done, am I starting to lose my sanity?

Re: Losing my mind?
Your residual life is being affected by drugs? If your life outside of drugs is just you "residual life" than you probably are using enough to fuck your brain up.
no really though, who is not crazy? Don't worry about it- I have done enough shit that I should be retarded as fuck. I think it's all good though.
By the way what the fuck kind of bullshit is that? Asking if you are lsing your mind? I dont fucking know- are you? No one will know but you until you kill some old lady and dance around her body waving a cat up and down.
chill dude- who fucking cares how sane or insane you are. What have you got on the line thats so important anyways?

Re: Losing my mind?
LSD and mushrooms alter your state of perception. They make you think in ways you might not have thought before. That's a good thing for some, the people looking to broaden their thoughts, and a bad thing for the people happy with their current state of mind.
If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Don't play with mind altering substances if you don't want your mind altered.
You're not going insane. Don't worry.

Re: Losing my mind?
forget the self and there is nothing to worry about!
strange perceptions?
what! so what?
just act normal and enjoy anything that's happening
as long as you don't act significantly weird around people in positions of authority you'll be fine
and even then - what's the worst that they can do?
my reality is barely the same hour to hour, much less day to day or week to week
well I won't really get into it because these matters are not really for talking about =X

Re: Losing my mind?
^ I feel the same way sometimes. Sometimes I get some pretty vast shifts in perception, other times I just don't know what to make of things. It's not like the situations I'm in change that quickly, but my thoughts about them sometimes do. And I'm constantly over-analyzing everything, yet it's something that I can't stop doing, because for me that would entail not thinking. And I hate benzos so that's not really a solution.
I know that ignorance is bliss but you can't really ever go back to being ignorant. I can't at least.
I feel like I know exactly the feeling OP's talking about, it usually accompanies flashbacks or HPPD symptoms for me. It's almost like a "Why am I thinking this?" kind of thing.

Re: Losing my mind?
Whats sanity?
Good point. I guess it is all objective anyway.
Though generally, if you see/hear things that aren't there, that's insane. Once again though, no way to really prove they're not there, since other people do not share your perception. We tend to kind of go by the "majority rules" rule of thumb.

Re: Losing my mind?
yea, What I mean is, like my perception of everything is different, I notice the intricies of life and all the little things that make a difference. And I cant go back to the ignorance, my mind has been forever opened. Down the rabbit hole as they say. So I guess since I'm not seeing crazy shit that isnt there, its just a little happy tweak on life that I was overreacting to.
Feels good to be enlightened.

Re: Losing my mind?
Just because it isnt said or brought to the mainstream out in the open, dont you think a majority of people have strange thoughts and thought patterns....especially older people? Enjoy life and live with what knowledge and perceptions you perceive as long as you are not doing harm to yourself or anyone else.

The mere fact that you're questioning your sanity proves that you're perfectly fine.
A real crazy person doesn't actually know they're crazy. You're just overreacting.

Beat me too it.
This whole thread reminds me of the ozzy osbourne quote "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most".
You are fine mate, depending on your age it is possible you are just maturing a bit or even hormones. If you are really worried buy a benzo or two off someone and drop them when you are feeling particularly dicey.

Re: Losing my mind?
Yeah, you're both wrong.^
A person with schizoprephnia can be wella ware of their condition will not in a psychotic episode. Not every "crazy person" is on the street corner wearing a tin foil hat thinking the FBI is reading their thoughts.
Hell, most CEOS of major companies are psychopaths. And I'm 100% someone you know has a personality disorder, anxiety, disorder, mood disorder, depression, etc.

QFT, I've realized plenty of times I'm having audial hallucinations but that doesn't make them go away.

Re: Losing my mind?
Just because of the nature of the way I think, I seem to think much differently after very little drug use. It doesn't interfere with anything, I seem to think things through in a much more mature, although abstract, manner.

Do you ever get shifts that you can't articulate in words or thoughts? Sometimes I just want to describe it to myself in my head but I just can't think of a way too. But, it's a really awesome feeling. It's weird in a way but you can appreciate the weirdness while your in it.
It's funny how or consciousness changes under rather minor circumstances.
The real question is whether there's actually something tangible there or if it's just a symptom of the drug.

is there even such a thing as consciousness separate from the rest of everything?

Re: Losing my mind?

It certainly seems apparent from our normal day to day lives.
I mean, science can only show us the chemical reactions that supposedly bring birth to consciousness. Perhaps that's all that there is and drugs just kind of fuck around with these neuro interactions.
Are speaking of some kind of collective conscious?
I've just always wonder what we're tapping into threw drugs. Even if it is only receptors in our brain the feelings are still fascinating. Like if I could spend a few months straight stoned out of my gourd I might be able to eventually articulate it.

No, at least for me it wasn't permanent.
The mindfuck goes away in about 2 weeks.
But, the tracers and the fucking static overlay stay there for about 5 months or so.
Prepare to see your math teacher talk about trig and see hundreds of hands.
At least that's what it was for me.
