I've done shrooms about 4 times, adding 1/16th to the dose each time, but I've never really TRIPPED OUT. I've never gotten any visuals or hallucinations, and I've always wanted to, so it's a real bummer.

Trip 1: 1/16th. I didn't get anything out of this trip. I'm 6'4" 200 lbs, so it's really no surprise that such a small amount didn't do shit I guess. That said, my friends did trip, and saw some minor hallucinations (Things looking like they were breathing for example).

Trip 2: 1/8th. This trip was interesting. I got feelings of euphoria, and I was reeeeally talkative. I was coming up with some funny shit and had some great conversations. That said, I was all there mentally, and acted as the voice of reason in the group for the most part.

Trip 3: 3/16ths. This trip was real similar to the second trip, just more intense. I was still real talkative, but I didn't see anything or lose grip on reality.

Trip 4: 1/4. This trip was pretty crazy, but only borderline overwhelming. It was like the third trip, but I started to reach the edge of reality. I had times where I was completely unsure of what was going on, and I had to look to my friends to for reassurance that nothing was wrong. That said, I didn't see a single visual, it was purely a mental trip. After I got over the initial spike of "WTF IS GOING ON" it felt similar to the third trip.

They've all been worthwhile experiences, but I've always really wanted to have a visual trip, and it just hasn't happened. I don't know if I could handle any more than I took on the 4th trip (People already look at me like I'm psycho for doing a 1/4, some can't imagine it). My dealers don't really know anything about different strains, and I don't either, so I really just have to take what I can get.

Do you think if I come across a different strands I might be able to get some visuals, or do you think I'm just not a person who can get them? My friends have gotten some decent visuals during each of these trips, and on the last trip the friend I was tripping with only did an 1/8th and got some visuals (He's about my size too). I plan to try acid soon, do you think if I gave that a shot it would be more likely I'd get visuals than on shrooms?

Also, do you think smoking weed would make a difference? I've smoked a bit on shrooms, but for whatever reason when I did it was kind of half-assed because I was so distracted, so I never smoke enough to get absolutely blazed when I'm tripping. Should I try facing a blunt or something? :D

I've dealt with shrooms quite a bit and all I can say is keep looking for that right strain. Some people say the strain doesn't matter but I've had some shrooms that do exactly what your talking about but after searching long and hard and working my way up the chain I finally found some (gold caps from San Jose I believe) that I wont dare take more than a half 8th of. When I close my eyes on these babies I see the weirdest shit (Aztec symbols & Godlike patterns) and bright lights flowing through the trees at night (weird ass fucking camping trip that was).

Anyways... just keep looking I guess. And I've heard acid is much for visual, I want to try it badly but I have no hookups for that kind of stuff around here.

Either you got really old shrooms where the potency has degraded or..

..your looking for something that isn't there. Pink elephants aren't going to appear in your room when you trip. Things will morph, melt, "breath", etc..

If you're looking for a full blown skull fuck DMT and Salvia are out there. Knock your socks off.

It DOES have something to do with the 'strains'.

You get either ones that will make you feel how you felt. Almost like you've done MDMA. Sense of pure euphoria etc. And others that will create 'visuals'. But said 'visuals' are just mere distortions of colour, light, objects, whatever.

There are certain shrooms that have the mix of the two, while others which are just more dominant in either feeling or tripping.

But what I've found is that the ones with the mix of the two, the euphoric side completely diminish any chance of heavy visual tripping. It's hard to really concentrate on objects ect when you're feeling fucking amazing and just want to talk about how great stuff is. Although, sometimes it does come in layers and you get the best of both. But this is contradictory while 'peeking'.

Also, you have to kinda force the visuals a little bit to get them started.

One time I felt the gushing of wind from my friend's ceiling fan. So I started wondering if I could make the wind stronger with my mind, and boom the pages of the calender started flapping around, then they started flipping up. I had to ask my friends if this was actually happening. They said no, and I when I turned back around the calender was stone still.

Then we went out front and got into my friend's car and I felt the car rocking back and forth (probably just a tiny, tiny vibration caused by my friends moving around) but to me it felt like the way a boat bobs on the ocean...so I started running with that idea, and within 20 seconds or so I could actually see waves rolling and crashing against the car. We were out in the middle of the fucking ocean, just drifting along in a car. This went away in a minute or so when we actually started to drive away.

But this was just one time, out of many, many shroom trips which I never got any kind of visuals like this again...so I'll chalk it up to strain. And yes, we were smoking bud while shrooming so that might've helped me get visuals.

Shrooms always effect me more psychologically with lots of introspection and whatnot. I think acid would be more what you're looking for, lots of visuals there.

With good acid you should get color shifting and patterns among many other things but here's my real suggestion.

Stop looking for the effects, relax and enjoy yourself, sometimes if your pushing to hard for a certain effects it won't happen, other times that will be what kicks it in. It's weird and doesn't always make sense but have patience.

Visual hallucinations aren't all they're hyped up to be, I find them less interesting then the inner working of my mind and reality.

BTW: Are you taking any meds or health supplements?

shrooms are more fun becasue the body high is better and the giggles will make your sides hurt n the morning.

Hail the 1/4 mush trip. Of it I too am a veteran (5 times). Be wary tho, potency varies and sometimes it can get intense with such high doses.

What do you mean by visuals? maybe youve been watching too many Hollywood movies. Visuals of mushrooms are in the way things are distorted and colours and shapes are different. Sometimes things "vibrate" or sway. Your going to see elves and jesus and shit, it dosnt work that way.

Lots of people have the bad habit of not being able to enjoy their trip. I've tripped with many people who, 2-3 hours into the trip, ask things like "so when does it start to really get good?". All the while I'm peaking and having the most insane thoughts and feelings I've ever had in my life. It's a real drag, and it must suck to be one of those people who can't enjoy things for what they are.

You're not going to have conversations with a talking blue wolf that doesn't exist. You might imagine something strange is in the room, but those kinds of hallucinations will disappear quickly. Just focus on your thoughts and feelings, play some good music, and enjoy.

The most I've seen from mushrooms--and even salvia--were auras...you can't necessarily expect to see anything right away.

Well i have had visual effects from .5grams of dried cubensis (at 145lbs) so i do not know what the problem is.


I have also taken 1.5 grams of the most potent cubensis i have ever had and I freaked out a little but i also got crazy colorful visuals of geometric patterns and shapes over everything. I have taken the same dose of different cubensis mushrooms and had very little visual effects but more of a headtrip. They just vary potency.

Has anyone else ever seen symbols or aztec like writting visuals? Cause when my friends and I have tripped off of these we actually have the same visuals. If I focused hard enough I could actually draw one of the symbols they are so vibrant and clear.

on the aztec tip: every time ive had real visual shrooms, ive noticed aztec type patterns appearing on brick buildings and often, there seems to be another feathery layer of things like buildings that is colored rather brightly and slightly offset from the real thing
