Default Lizard wont eat *PICS*

I just got an Eastern Water Dragon from a friend...he doesnt like to do much except sit in one place...but he will not eat or drink anything, when my friend came over he opened its mouth somehow and put food in which the lizard then ate...i cannot open its mouth, it just stays shut. Does anyone know how to make this lizard eat or more comfortable of its surroundings

I'm not a complete expert on reptiles, jolt's pretty good at that, but for one lizards don't eat as much as you'd think due to their cold-blooded nature. I do know, as mentioned by jolt in another thread, reptiles prefer to drink from a moving water source.

That cage also looks a bit too small for it. Make sure you have a proper heat source for it focused on one part of the tank so if it overheats it'll move to the cooler side.

Provide foliage so it has a sense of cover.

What did your friend feed it?

Ok, those are all horrible ideas. Sounds like your reptile is fed, again they're cold blooded! They do not need to eat as often as we do. Stop trying to feed it in general.

That enclosure is way too small for a bearded dragon!

EDIT: Here's a good wiki on all the shit you should know: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearded_Dragon

No, It's not ok.

You need at least a 20 gallon enclosure for a lizard that size.

There has to be a large water source, big enough for complete submersion at the very least(preferably moving water)

Basking light overhead on one side of the tank, opposite the water.

UVA/UVB lighting.

Is this a joke? Let me guess, pork from the chinese you had last night because you figured an Eastern Water Dragon would eat stuff like that? Being from the East and all.

That cage is way to small for that size lizard, stop trying to force feed it, if its hungry it'll eat, I agree, find away to make the water move, u should of looked up on that kind of lizard before u bought it.

A full grown water dragon will also need an enclosure about 4'x4'x6' with plenty of space and branches for climbing and a larger water source.
