I plan on trying shrooms soon, and I want to get an idea of what a reasonable price is, and any good, non-intuitive things I'd need to know when taking it.

I currently have some very potent and dry shrooms; they're mexicans, I believe. I've been warned off taking the whole 3gs; and recommended that I only take half of that dose.

But it all depends on potency, whether they're wet or dry, how fucked you want to get, when the last time you did them was, and so on... no one can give you an estimated dosage apart from others who've experienced the same batch, so go and ask your dealer/friends.

It'll be my first time (obviously), so...I doubt I'd want to go crazy. Would an 8th be enough for 2 people to have a solid trippy experience?

If you want to trip hard, take a full eighth. A 16th is more than enough to fuck you up though. However, I'd suggest other drugs to go with it - ie bud.

By the way, I cannot stress this enough. The waiting period for mushrooms is quite a while, so you won't peak immediately.

I took an 8th of shrooms the first time I tried them. B+ strain, grown on BRF cakes by myself. Yes, there were hallucinations. Yes, the walls were moving when my eyes were open, and yes I was intantly transported to a medevil(sp?) carnival when I closed my eyes. There was a dragon, and knights, and fair maidens...all in all, a good trip.:D

On the way down, my mattress felt like one of those boats on Discovery's "Deadliest Catch", like I was on some HUGE swells, that were going to capsize me. In reality, my mattress wasn't moving at all, but holy shit it felt so real.

Even WITH that, I still felt a little disappointed, was expecting more from the hallucinations, lol.

It's free if you go pick them in the cow fields. Generally in Vancouver it's $5/gram. Get a quarter and do about 2.5g-half of it. On a good day you can get a few pounds in the right field though.

I don't think anyone really pays $5 a gram since it's so readily available. But that's a general price. I used to pay $60-90 an ounce.

BRF cakes are a good Tek to follow for anyone starting out. I did that, and had a 100% success rate with ZERO contams.

And as for the 25/oz guy, that's about 2.8 g dry. So you get them for almost exactly the mean price of this thread, which is 30/ eighth.

Mushrooms lose ~90% of weight when dried, so dry weight = 1/10 * fresh weight.

Growboxes get contaminated because of not enough air exchange, bad substrate mixtures, contaminated spores, unsterile technique, and a host of other factors. I believe the person who said those specific grow boxes suck would have to tell you.

But in general, most grow boxes aren't bad, they just are horribly expensive for what they are, and could be re-created in a DIY fashion cheaply. Plus they usually aren't re-used very easily, whereas if you DIY you'll have a ready-made fruiting chamber for next time. And growing shrooms is all about learning what the shrooms need and like and how to provide them with that. Or at least to me it is:p

Shrooms vary between free, and very expensive. There is no set price. It depends who you're buying them from...

In Canada, it seems people do regularly buy them though, so what, you're looking at splashing out like up to 30bucks for 1/8? Personally, for your first trip I wouldn't take a whole 3.5g of cubensis, BUT i would take more than 1/2 that. Around 2.2-2.5g is a good amount to take, if they're average potency, and do it with someone you know well and can trust.

Don't trip with big groups of people, especially not first time - get outside AWAY from the hectic bullshit of every day life and shrooms are way more rewarding...

Don't smoke weed to calm yourself down on shrooms. It doesn't work. It intensifies the trip, and is unpredictable. Weed affects different people in many different ways... personally, I don't like smoking weed when tripping at all, I think it clouds the trip and makes it confusing and more negative.

In the end, you'll find stuff out yourself really. No, you wont see monsters eating orange juice turning into lamp-posts or whatever.... but you can get some very strong visuals at higher doses. I've taken up to 7g of shrooms before, and it's..... not where the "average" person needs to be. Anything about 4.5g is to me, a very strong trip, and you should be damn careful you're in the right mindset etc.

Be careful and use common sense basically, especially if picking them in the wild, you MUST know what you're doing...

As for buying them online, sure it's possible, and theoretically I may have done so before and had some very interesting times. I would not do this again, however. Enough is enough with shrooms. They can be pretty damn cheap if you buy them online though....

I don't know about all these people telling you to take 1/16 of a oz of shrooms, I'de say take the full 3.5 if you want to have a decent trip, 1.75 grams of shrooms isn't going to give you a "trip" but you might get the giggles, I don't think it is really a taste of what mushrooms are all about.

And to inflate my e penor I'll add I have taken up to 14 grams of mushrooms. I have some crazy ass lucid dreams though, stronger than any drug, on a pretty regular basis, so that probably helps me handle that high a dose and still have a good time. :)

The time before that I took 12 grams and that trip was way more intense then the 14 gram trip so no one can really tell you how much you should take.
