Bit of an unusual thread for S&A I suppose, but as I'm currently single and working long hours during the week my scope for meeting new people is decidedly limited.

Plus it doesn't help that when it comes to traditional nightclubs they just aren't my scene. I'd much prefer to be at a gig watching a decent band, but again, it doesn't really help meeting people when everyone in the hall is watching the stage.

So my grand plan is to go speed dating, why? Because there's a place that does it semi-locally in Bath and because it seems like an experience that's worth enduring at least once.

And to the point of this thread... has any one actually tried this and have tips/horror stories? All thoughts are welcome, even if you think it's the last gasp of a desperate goon.

I would imagine there isn't going to be the most attractive selection of females doing speed dating, but you should still do it for the craic.
