Getting a script for Klonopin after a psychiatric commitment
I walked out in front of an 18-wheeler and stopped. He swerved and there wasn't any oncoming traffic, so there wasn't an accident. I just stood there in my own little world for a few minutes before the cops came.
They commited me for 5 days and you know all that jazz. "Take your meds. Communicate. Burn the bridges of negative influence, yada, yada, yada..."
I was set up with a place called The Guidance Center and I don't like their diagnosis or the meds they want me to take. I wish they'd give me some Klonopin, because I don't want to take the Lamictal, and Valium just makes me more manic, and Zyprexa isn't going to calm me down when everyone's giving me ten kinds of shit from twenty different angles. My mom flushed my Xanax because my brother's way out there on that shit and she's scared I'd end up like him.
I'm making a schedule with a new post-commitment place called Parthenon Pavalion at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. How can I convince them to put me on the meds that I believe will help me? [i.e] Klonopin or maybe Geodon. I don't know too much about geodon My depression isn't the problem. My anxiety with my family situation is and it's not going to stop. I just want them to see that I need a high mg anti-anxiety med that I'd feel comfortable taking because there's no risk of death or permanent internal fuckedupedness that those other drugs carry as side-effects.
I just basically want my klonopin, because I know it'll work and help me overcome all the bullshit I have to live through on a daily basis.

I'm serious people. I'm seeking help for my problems and a woman today told me that klonopin has been her wonder-drug for anxiety, and my depression is a product of my anxiety.
You're help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Getting a script for Klonopin after a psychiatric commitment
I feel for you man. Unfortunately your seemingly fucked by going to this diagnostic center, sounds like the kind of place thats aimed at keeping the paitents indiffrent to life. I think you have two choices, either figure out a side effect specific to valium (but not of all benzos) and claim to have it in hopes of getting your klonopin perscribed as an alternative. Your other alternative is to simply boycot the treatment center say you want a second opnion from a real psychiatrist, refuse any and all treatment from this so called diagnostic center. If both fail, look for something elce to cope, shit chain smoke, consume alcohol in large quantitys, et cetra.

I don't have money to pay a private doctor, and my state insurance is all caught up in this mix, so I don't know what to tell them to make them see that klonopin would be the best medication for me.

The Dr. I'm seeing now gave me Zyprexa to replace the valium, and I don't want that shit because I know it won't work.

Re: Getting a script for Klonopin after a psychiatric commitment
Zyprexa will make you not manic, it might make you really depressed though. Either way you'll feel fucked up for a good few days at least then if you stay on it you'll gain a shit load of weight. I mean a shit load, fast, talking stretchmarks here. Then when you go off it you'll realize how fucking gone you where for (Insert time on med here) and you'll lose all the weight really fast.
KPins will do most likely what they did to me. Fuck me up beyond belief. I fell down, deep down into the darkness, and I loved it. I didn't care, I didn't care that I was practically dead among the living. I couldn't feel the hurt I caused others and I couldn't feel the hurt others had inflicted on me. The memories were gone, I no longer was I so there was nothing to worry about. If a memory or feeling came bubbling up to the surface it was just a few mg away from being drowned out again. Living this way was not living. I've quit and I feel so much better now.
I think I know what you mean about it not being depression but rather anxiety. It was my anxiety that made me want to kill myself, to escape it. To relax. I wasn't depressed to the point where that is why I wanted to die but I was depressed enough not to care if that's what my anxiety wanted.
I won't tell you what to do but I highly suggest you don't fall into them like I did, and it pains me to know you probably will since that's what they do, they suck you in and pull you down. I lost months of my life, literally almost 100% gone from any kind of recollection. I lost my dignity and pride (The things I did in this state had repercussions that will haunt me forever) and I lost myself.
It took thousands of dollars worth of K, E, Nitrous and Weed + PCP and Mushrooms to rebuild a sense of who I was, what I was doing and where I was headed. Though this was a totally new me, for the better IMO. I'm not saying you'll need to do this or that I even needed to do it, but hopefully it should show you how gone you'll actually get if you start abusing it. Trust me as well, if you take it for the anxiety like I did, abusing happens even when you think it's not. It seems justified and right. It wouldn't feel like a lie to say you weren't abusing it.

You're being way too idealistic.
You know, even after having already BEEN prescribed clonazepam years ago, they still won't give it to me anymore. Even though I told them:
"Look, I was prescribed it. I took it. It worked. Could we maybe consider giving it another shot?"
Doctor: "Oh, no, don't worry about that, we'll just put you on another SSRI. It will work. Trust me, I'm a doctor."
