Stronger effects of hand rolled cigarettes
I bought a tin of "American Spirits 100% American Blend" and have been rolling them and smoking them for the past few weeks. I've never been a big smoker, just a "social smoker" when other people smoke or when I'm drinking. I'm pretty used to cigarettes, but for some reason, I get those sickly feelings, like when I first started to smoke a long time ago, when I smoke these American Spirits. My stomach will feel like shit and I'll need to lie down for a while before I feel normal again. I thought at first that maybe I just wasn't tolerant enough for such a strong smoke, but I've been trying to ween myself on them every since I bought them and I still get nausea.
Is there anyway to curb these feelings? I'm used to taking large drags, but I've been trying to take shallower, slower hits. I also try to light it with matches so that it doesn't produce as much smoke. Besides pacing myself with each cigarette, is there some way to eliminate the sick feelings?

Re: Stronger effects of hand rolled cigarettes
I do use filters. Bought a pack of 100 Top filters and I still get sick. Maybe I don't roll them tightly enough and get some smoke outside the filter, but I doubt that.

Re: Stronger effects of hand rolled cigarettes
Nothing is wrong with your cigarettes. Its just they probably have a lot more nicotine than your standard Marlboro's or Camels. It's the American Spirits type that you roll yourself so of course its gonna have more nic. I know the feeling you are talking about. Just either go back to regular cigs or just smoke those hand rolled ones until that feeling goes away. you probably just aren't used to them yet.

Re: Stronger effects of hand rolled cigarettes
Why would lighting them with matches make less smoke than a lighter? And yes AS has way more nicotine then the old shit you buy prerolled in packs. Just roll them smaller or dont smoke a whole one?

Re: Stronger effects of hand rolled cigarettes
American Spirit has the most nicotine of any tobacco.

A year down the road, it's gonna be choosing to quit, which isn't as easy. Save yourself the hassle.

Nothing. They're strong, and that's about it. If you want weaker cigs, get pre-rolled ones. They cost a shit-ton more, but most people prefer them.
