What is the fastest way to dry out some plants that were recently harvested?

Why do you need to dry them quickly? It'll be much better if you wait. I can see if you have to move them like tomorrow or something, but if you're just being impatient, don't. It'll be worth it.

Its not me. It's my 14yo bro. He doesnt have any money right now and is out of smoke. He had some plants growing out in the forest for the longest time. Now theyre ready to dry out. He wants something to smoke tonight. Any ideas? Or should I just throw him a 10 and tell him to go buy some.

Yeah, loan him a couple bucks to smoke tonight. One of the worst things you can do is put all kinds of care into pot and then quick-dry it. Tell him to get a cardboard box and run some string through it near the top. Hang the buds from this till the stems snap, then put them in a Mason jar for a couple weeks, opening it once a day to let moisture out. It'll reach an equilibrium of moisture that's perfect and leech out some of the chlorophyll. In my town, proper drying can get you an extra $10 on the eighth.

He took a couple of leaves off this for a bowl tonight, not knowing how long it would take to dry. He ended up trying to smoke it tonight and got semi high. I told him to just leave the plants alone until they are done. I gave him $20 for now, and he's gonna give it to me back when he offs all the plants hes got growing.

This is why we dont let kids do drugs. They dont know what the fuck theyre doing.

Tell him that if the plants are actually done now, he could make some hash or oil out of the leaves. Honey oil is easy & quick. It can leave behind benzenes, but it's over 90% THC if done right. Water hash isn't too hard, either, but takes a little longer. It'll leave you blocks of hash. You can then do an extraction with butane or alcohol on the leaves.

There's IPA hash, too, but it's not that great compared to honey oil and it takes a while. It tends to average around 75% THC at the high end. You can probably find recipes for all of these here (on the forums, not the text files) or with a simple Google search.

There's a way to do it in the microwave or oven, I can't really remember how - I'm not familiar with it - but it can dry weed quickly.

He waited this long. I don't see why he can't wait another 2-3 weeks. Actually, it would take less time than that. 3-5 days hanging inside w/ a fan going would dry them out. When it's dry, it's OK to smoke, but curing it will do better.

It sucks to grow and put hard work in and then fuck up the drying/curing process. Don't rush it...take your time. Otherwise you could end up with a bunch of weed that smells like hay ;)

If you’ve got a quality strain, then the leaves ought to contain a nice amount of alkaloids, not enough to smoke of course but still very valuable.

Collect all the leaves. Clean and freeze them. When you ready to use them, you could simply add butter to a skillet and crumble the frozen foliage into the pan and make some tasty cannabutter.

Other factors can play a role in that if they even outdoors. But for example if it were to get alot of shade it could go into flowering stage more easily. Also some places can have 2 harvest seasons per year and some tropical places you can grow and harvest pretty much year round.

Its probably less than a foot tall. No buds, just leaves.

Or maybe it's a LowRyder that doesn't require a light schedule to make it flower, it goes by time. It's only around 9 weeks from seed to harvest.

The plants arent ready to harvest at all. He just stripped one of the plants because he's a n00b and desperate for weed. I dont know. He's leaving them alone now. Ill have a talk with him. They are only a foot tall or so.

If the plant is only 1ft tall the leaves are going to contain minimal amounts of THC. Very little THC is produced until the actual flowering stage which will not happen until the plant has matured and daylight hours decrease triggering the growth of flowers.

Until then your brother is wasting his time smoking leaves and only causing the plant un-necessary stress which will just slow things down even more.

Tell him to be paitent, good weed comes to those who wait and even considering harvesting those plants now is a very very bad idea, especially when you throw in the stupid idea of trying to dry it as fast as possible. Chances are if your brother is going to be impatient his weed is either going to be non-existent or totally shit.
