Default Foxy experience. (long)

You could skip to the bottom if you just want the short version.

http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/5meo_dipt/5meo_dipt.shtml

I had never tried Foxy (AKA 5-MeO-DiPT), nor any other psychedelics ever. Only do herb, took x only twice, and experienced a bad salvia trip before. I took 2 caps of Foxy (each about 7mg) at 11PM. Around 12AM, I suddenly felt nauseous, so I decided to leave my dorm to breath for a little bit. I somehow could already sense that this was going to be a bad trip. I started to feel very light, so I lie down. In my head, I felt that all sorts of magnified feelings and imagery were rushing in my head, which was TOO overwhelming and crazy. I felt even more anxious. My roommate tells me to think about peaceful thoughts. But instead of thinking about peaceful thoughts, I turned to very very bad thoughts--like genocides and the holocaust. It felt like I lacked freedom in thought.

The imagery and thoughts got even more intense that I actually felt I could immediate drift into trance. At this point, I felt obligated to fall into the trance, but at the same time I felt unsafe if I let myself fall into it. I felt very uncomfortable, and felt that the trip was WAY TOO overwhelming. However, then suddenly I felt a very wonderful feeling which I had never felt before... it was just complete bliss even better than e. I visualized a portal with limitless visuals inside, but I felt very scared stepping into it... And then, all of the sudden--I felt very nauseous and threw up on the carpet floor--FUCK. I realized at this point that drugs were not a joke. I should have taken one cap instead of two because it was my first time.

My roommate, who was not on Foxy at the time, woke up and we both stood in amazement. I immediately felt better because Foxy was out of my system (or so I thought), and I no longer felt nauseous. My roommate makes me some tea, and just the warmth of the tea made me feel very good inside--which made my mood feel good too. Everything in my head was overwhelming, I was over-processing every thought, and every feeling was dramatically magnified in sheer hopelessness. The bad feelings would turn into physical pain which I starved off with warm water and tea.

I then felt an enormous amount of emotional baggage which I felt was very, very heavy on me, and I began to feel that I could easily connect to my roommate like never before. I revealed some very private information to my roommate involving some family problems which I had NEVER told anyone before. I felt the need to tell him because that would make my mood feel better and it would KILL me to not reveal that to anybody because I've kept this one secret inside of me for so long. I definitely felt a lot better afterwards for telling him.

And the trip gets weirder. Every aspect in life was more noticeable and dramatic in a hopeless way. I started to feel very awkward around my roommate who I wouldn't say is a close friend. He was just silent and shocked, and I started to get angry because it felt like he ignored my feelings while on the drug. I kept saying, "Dude, just SAY SOMETHING!" I started talking about a sense of security, which I felt like I was completely lacking. I seriously thought at that point that I was going to die from the drug, so I asked my roommate if he was my homie to which he answered, "of course." I try to convince him to stay up with me so I could feel secure and maybe talk about my feelings so I could feel better, but he declines and goes back to sleep. It was late at 2AM in the morning, but if the tables turned--I honestly would've stayed up all night for him. I felt betrayed and it gave me a very eerie feeling of loneliness.

I had to make sure that I was completely safe and that I would be alright, but I was not able to capture this sense of security. I was miles and miles away from home and I realized that people like my roommate and friends at college would never care so much for me as much as my family would. So I stayed up the whole night, trying to make sure that I stayed intact and normal. When I toked up, I felt a slight mood lift and relaxation.

I spent the whole night trying to clean up the barf from the carpet, and just sat in front of my computer listening to music trying to make time pass. I simply could not sleep because I could not handle the overwhelming imagery if I fell asleep. The more I tried to think of the fucked up situation of a "normal" situation, the more spookier it got. It felt that I was imagining myself sitting there, completely fucked up on drugs which was a very negative image. That negative image turned into magnified spiritual energy which was then converted into physical heart pains. I could not sleep and could not ignore what I was going through. I was completely trying to resist the trip because I DID NOT trust what it would bring forth if I let myself go into a trance. I assume that's what fucked up the entire trip... it's because I did not trust the comings of the effects and that I had made a major mistake by looking at drugs as a joke. All of my feelings were intensified, and it was a very hellish trip for me. Even when I had good thoughts, they would quickly turn into bad psychedelic thoughts. I was shaking up the entire time... it felt that time was moving extremely slow. I was thinking at incredible speed which made everything very noticeable and scary. I was understanding people talking fast on Youtube and sorting out playing cards at incredible speeds at the same time... and I knew I was completely fucked up at that point because I would never be able to do that sober. I thought I was going completely insane.

For the rest of the night, I was trying to limp through the bad trip focusing on my life the entire time which was not enjoyable at all. I saw some recent years of my life zoom by... as though as if I was looking at a visual timeline of recent years of my life. I kept holding on to the feeling that I appreciated life, and that I would never go through this experience ever again. I was trying to survive. Though scared as shit, I had the tendency of trying to "finish up" the happy feelings of my family and friends and my own spirit, like I was going to die or something. But, from time to time those happy feelings turned into terrifying feelings because I knew I was out of my mind. Then slowly, those anxious and magnified feelings began to fade away slowly until I was fully sober at about 7AM.

The trip had lasted about 6 hours. After the trip, it felt like I had almost a near-death experience... the entire time I felt like I was dying and I was thinking about my life the entire time and realized that I had been very unproductive and ignorant in my life. This made me think afterwards that I had some things I needed to straighten out in my life... looking from a clear retrospective perspective. But overall, the trip was the worst because I threw up, felt anxious the entire time, felt like I was very lonely because I was the only one trippin in the room. But on the other side, I really changed into a person who appreciated laughter more than pain. I realized ultimately that life was too short and it could end any time. I truly felt a near-death experience. It was a very bizarre experience...

I'm thinking about trying it again but only one cap. I think it turned out into a bad trip because the plateau completely caught me off guard and I was unable to accept the overwhelming feelings which made me anxious. However, I really think that if I had a someone experienced who stayed up with me the entire night, took care of me, talked to me, then I would have totally survive through the trip. How should I try to ease myself and have a better trip with a lighter dose of 7mgs next time?

What I learned ultimately: I learned that if you keep your heart, mind and soul open, you can truly be happy. I learned that I was trying to dodge all the negativity in my life to get "satisfaction", and I knew that was something I had to fix in my life. I definitely need to be more fair and honest to myself, and to love my spiritual and physical self.

TIPS: I would suggest that anyone looking to try it, take a low dose under 10mg the first time because you don't know your emotional and physical limits. Also, definitely, definitely have a close friend with you who can comfort you if you (and you will) feel emotionally obligated. You also should be moving around in a car, or outside in nature, or somewhere soothing and comfortable. Relaxing music is a must. Always be sure of your caps, research it, and plan it out. Don't make the same mistake I made.

Short version: First time I took 14mgs of Foxy... very scary hellish space-like trip. First psychedelic experience ever. Felt very uncomfortable and extremely anxious because I felt like I had lacked a sense of security. I felt a heavy emotional baggage which I was not able to release properly due to the fact that I was trippin alone, and that felt very eerie and lonely. I could've went into a complete trance but my mind was refusing to let that happen because I did not trust myself in a complete trance, fearing that I might go into a scary trip or do something completely out of hand. I stay up the entire night until morning, trying to limp through the trip while listening to music and focusing on my life in all aspect. I felt mostly bad thoughts anxious thoughts for some reason. When the morning came, I felt like I had survived a dramatic near-death experience. The trip had lasted about 6 hours. Even though it was a terrifying experience, I can say that I appreciate life a lot more after this experience.

Any tips to have a better trip with one cap instead? I was a complete noob at this.

What went wrong during the trip:
-Too heavy of a dose
-Lacked someone who would guide me through my trip.
-Lacked the right music.
-Lacked trust and companionship.
-Lacked trust in myself and the trip itself which prevented me from allowing the trip take over me.
-Stayed in the same room the entire time.

You shouldn't have let the nausea at the beginning bother you so much, it sounds like that was the main cause of all your stress.

If you think the nausea is bad when you take caps, try licking the stuff.
I can understand the anxiety of being alone on the stuff, i mean i get bored when i'm alone on it, it's not like acid where you can just get transfixed by some mundane object, you really need someone or something living to keep you occupied.

Shouldve had some benzos on hand if you werent quite ready for it..couldve popped a small small dose(and just like throwing up, you felt better cause "you" thought it was out of your system) just to serve as a mental connection saying to yourself "Hey I took this pill ill be calm here in a few minutes no worries".

I went on my first trip by myself on mushies and a hefty dose at that(with parents home) and it was really smooth, i just embraced myself to witness some enlightenment and thats exactly what it was. Just gotta have the right mindset from the beginning and/or environment depending on whats running through your head prior.

Nice report. I personally have never tried it, but a couple of my buddies had the (mis)fortune of getting some believing it to be 2c-b. They took quite a bit and needless to say, they were fucked. Looking back it's actually hilarious, one guy crushed up a pill and railed it - puked immediately after. From my understanding its a "wobbly" ride, lots of ups and downs. Hopefully I can get my hands on some soon, Im definitely not in the mental state to have one of those trips but I wouldn't mind trying it at some point.

Anyways, good to hear you came out alright.

Poor planning
Don't trip alone
Don't stay indoors/the same place for the entire trip

Sounds like fun. Too bad it'd be hard to get those more lucrative kinds of drugs around where I live....

I appreciate everybody's comments, concerns, and advice. It was obviously a very scary trip for me due to poor planing... I stayed in the same place in the entire time and I definitely would need people with me to make me feel secure. I seemed to be overly concentrated on the most mundane things and I definitely needed to be outside, preferably in a car ride with the windows open.

The fact that no one else was on the same inner spirit level made me feel very, very insecure and lonely. That fucked me up.

One thing that I've learned is that drugs is NOT a joke. I always joked with my friends about taking Foxy because I've heard crazy things about it, but no one was laughing during the trip. Always research your shit.

I would suggest that anyone looking to try it, take a low dose under 10mg the first time because you don't know your emotional and physical limits.
