Default Avoiding OC addiction..

Someone who *is* me got his tonsils, adenoids, and turbinates removed as well as a septoplasty to clear up my airway because snoring is such a problem that I don't get good sleep and thus fell asleep in college classes. They've given me Roxicet, which is a bottle of liquid OC/APAP 5/325 and I'm taking around a teaspoon (5mg OC) every two hours for pain. I'm 135 lbs (probably less because i haven't eaten anything or drank much in about a day) and I have relatively no opiate tolerance- I would get plenty of jollies out of a 7.5mg OC percoset (idk the apap for 7.5/*** percoset but it's irrelevant..)

At what point am I going to start getting addicted? I'd really like to avoid it as much as possible, while still killing as much pain as I can throughout the day. Any advice/thoughts?

PS, I don't think I'm going to have too much APAP to worry about either.. also the bottle suggests taking 1-2tsp (5-10mg OC) every four hours as needed for pain.

Thank you.

At those doses, unless you're going to be taking it for a fair amount of time it's nothing to worry about.

I'll be taking it over 8-10 days and I may up the dose a little bit (not a lot because I'm deathly afraid of vomiting in this condition) because swallowing still just kills. I didn't think I would get addicted, but definitely better safe than sorry.. My friend was lucky enough to get suboxone for his withdrawals.

I agree. But it's hard to say when people get "addicted". Some people have the personality and mindset that makes it easier for them to become "addicted" than other people.

For me it was very easy to become addicted, and I spent the whole Fall, into Winter breaking the habit.

It kind of depends on how strong your will power is, environment...etc.

Hope you get better :)
