Default Drinking fast vs. Drinking slow

Alot of people drink slow and they say it gets you less drunk but you'll be drunk for longer. From my personal experience drinking slow gets me a shitty, drowsy, sloppy kinda drunk. When I first started drinking when I was about 10 me and my friends used to have to wait outside the liquor store for ages waiting for someone whod go in and get our drink for us and when we had it we always had to watch out for the pigs so we'd drink in alleys and drink it as fast as we could so thats how I started drinking and I before I tried cannabis I thought alcohol was the greatest thing known to man.

Anyway I kept the drinking fast habit well after I turned 18 but after a while I started drinking slowly and I noticed I was drinking way less and I lost my joy in drinking. Alcohol became complete shit. I didn't enjoy it anymore. At first I put it down to me getting older and dealing with the substance differently but then I decided to start drinking fast again and I got the real buzz back again. I can compare the difference now. I get drowsy and sloppy but at the same time I get euphoric and I get a buzz in my stomach a bit like ecstasy.

This has got nothing to do with the alcohol concentration because when I drink vodka or whiskey slowly I still don't get the euphoric effect but I do when I drink it fast so I'm not sure what it is. Maybe its all about overloading your body with alcohol as quick as you can and its the transition from having no alcohol in your belly to having loads that causes the euphoria. I'm know scientist though. Not yet anyway so I don't know.

I suppose its the old drug rush effect. Like the way your first joint of the day is always the best but even if you smoke 15 joints after that none of them compare to the first one. Same thing with heroin. I never fixed the shit but the first huff of smack of the day is always the best. Even if I do way bigger tokes afterwards they never compare to the first one. Crack is a different story though. Every hit of crack I do in a day seems to be equally good. I think its a matter of depressants and stimulants. Alcohol, smack and weed seem to be more on the downer side than upper side. I'm no pharmacologist though. Not yet anyway.

I always drink fast because I try to get as intoxicated as possible, like today. I agree about the weed too, the first bowl of the day is always the best.

Yeah I don't think anyone can argue with this. The quicker you drink the better. God I love that first joint of the day. Or better yet the first joint of the night when your drunk as fuck. It always puts me half to sleep but I love it.

Im guessing youve never smoked smack then because I swear to god the first toke of that shit is better than 15 tokes combined afterwards. I think its the transition from being sober to stoned that makes it so enjoyable.

^^

The only time I drink slow is if I'm going on a binge, but I'll start out quick. But alcohol sucks to binge on...

As long as I'm drinking I'm happy. No need for a set tempo.

Fast all the way. Beer is pointless to me. Who wants to drink ten to twenty 12 oz units of fluid when you could drink 10% of that in liquor in a fraction of the time?

QFMFT

And don't start this "we all like beerlol because we like the taste" because I bet most of you drink shitty ass natty (and rightfully so, as it is cheap and works) at a party.

Nah, Ywengling is the beer preferance for me, and I do in fact like the taste. It costs 3 or 4 bucks more a 12-pack, but its worth it. My favorite out of everything is Crown Royal. I can sip that shit straight on rocks.

Fast or slow, there is no science needed for alchohol. Drink whatever rate you want to.

To the op: Unless you drink the night after rolling, achohol does not compare to ecstacy. I know everybody reacts to drugs differently, but those 2 drugs are not even close to being in the same ball-park.

I don't understand why people drink liquor with ice. It goes down much easier warm. The bartenders always look at me funny when I order a triple of vodka straight up. Sometimes they don't even ask me and say alright triple vodka on the rocks and start putting ice in and I tell them "get them fuckin rocks outta there!"

People that aren't morbidly obese like you.

Considering I'm actually not I don't find any offense nor humor in that, but nevertheless I remain puzzled as to the relevance of obesity to a preference of liquor over beer. Care to enlighten me?

I just looked it up, and its not that much more expensive. I think I might give it a go this weekend.

Thanks for the tip. If this thread is still up, I'll post back.

I prefer drinking slow, my body can't handle too much alcohol too fast (oh, and maybe people should define how much alcohol do they drink fast?)

When I want to get hammered I drink vodka or rum with cola. About half a litre is enough for me.
Usually though just 4 beers or more is just about right. Not sober but just drunk enough to feel free.

Sure you aren't t&t. Maybe you were unaware of the calories in beer. I'll try to spell it out for you next time.

I hear you fine. You're saying I prefer not to drink beer because I'm obese and am trying to avoid calories, which beer is loaded with. Considering I'm six-foot and 195 lbs. and find the taste of beer unappealing to my palete, I fail to find any relevance to your inaccurate assumptions of me.

liquor>beer. especially if getting drunk is your goal...

one could just use the arguement that the quanity of liquor you can drink has a higher proof, which means rather than fill you up on beer, you can fill yourself up on liquor...

Yea, it was somewhat of an assumption. I remember seeing a picture or something during the whole fake suicide fiasco.

Actually I think beer is better for you. Something about the sugars in liquor or something. I guess it depends what kind/how much booze you drink compared to beer.

I dunno my old gym teacher talked about that.

A gym teacher is hardly an authority on any subject, even that which he/she "teaches".

Does it matter?

If you want to get shit faced, then yeh, chug cocktails and beer, cider, spirits.... whatever.

If you want to have a few DRINKS and chill out, then drink slower. It's nice. It's social. You can savour your wine and widdle on about how the after pepper corn taste makes you cream your panties.... s'all good!

I think i'll go find some $4 a bottle of good vodka here, soon! Shit i love this country...
