So I was stupid. I decided to take a bottle of 100 percs from a pharmacy I intern in. I have one day left.

It is a big chain pharmacy, and now that I think about it I think they have hidden cameras watching us. I THINK i was safe in the area that I pocketed it. they take stock every so often there.
But I'm really afraid of a lot of jailtime right now.
Its the first time I did it.

I'm hoping they will just think its a stocking error because from most of the reports I've read, most peopel get busted if theyve been stealing a lot over a long period of time.

Advice? Do you think if I return the pills that I will be safe? thats my main question. They've been gone for a week, and If I havent been arrested yet I think theres a good chance they havent noticed yet.
Or are they setting a trap for me when I go in tomorrow?

Second, you're a fucking moron. Did you stop for even a second to think if that was such a hot idea? Did you think of what could happen if you got caught?When you said your interning, I assume you want to work in this field, right? And I suppose you know getting caught stealing meds - especially narcotics - can keep you from ever being allowed to work in the field [though hydrocodone may not be a schedule III like morphine or Oxy - it won't matter much to them as it is still a narcotic].

I'm almost certain that they will have a camera there and that they keep a damn close eye on all drugs like that. They have to account for every pill. Which also means they would likely catch you returning the pills.

Returning them is also a bad idea because if they do catch you, they might try to get you for drug tampering [are you old enough to remember the Tylenol poisoning cases?]. Pharmacies are not allowed to return pills once they've been dispensed. So they would be particularly pissed if they do catch you returning them.

You're right though, you may not get caught. But really, was 100 fucking hydrocodone - hydrocodone for god's sake! - really worth all the possible consequences?

Actually Meta, he took Percocet's, so it would have been Oxy + APAP that he stole, but that's not really the issue. My advice is: if you think that you can return them without getting caught, that would definitely be my advice. They are really serious about inventory on that kind of stuff, and if they see that percs are missing they will likely know what happened. They are not stupid about this kind of stuff. Couldn't you just bring them in and make some crazy shit up and be like, "oh fuck guys I just dropped all these pills on the floor should I throw them out." Well, that's kind of a stupid example but really I'm sure you can think of something that would work. I'm like 90% they will notice that you took them though. It's pretty unlikely that they set a trap for you though... I know in hospitals whenever something like that comes up missing, even if it's only 1, they have everyone that was on that shift in that area take a drug test.

Well how often are you interning there? One day a week or what? They probably haven't done an inventory check yet, because every pill has to be accounted for so if they had done it, you would probably have heard about it. Once they do realise that 100 vics are missing, then they'll go through their standard procedure, whatever it may be (drug testing, going through CCTV, questioning people with access to controlled drugs, etc...). I don't think they would send the cops round to your house immediately, they would probably want to question you by themselves first.

All I can say is that if you really are that worried about getting caught, don't do any drugs for a while (in case they make you take a piss test), and just dump the vics far away from your house. Don't give them to a friend, don't sell them, don't try to sneak them back into the pharmacy, just throw them away.

Dude, if your caught then trying to return them is not going to make it any worse. If your not caught then trying to return them might make things better, it's very possible they haven't done inventory yet. Also, I never knew there was such a thing as Percosets, I thought you just spelled Percocet wrong so my mistake.

just bury them somewhere no one else will know but you...and dont take any until a couple weeks after ur internship has ended to be on the safe side.
