My Doctor Prescribed me some hydrocodone for my recent arm surgery. I took one and I didn't really feel anything, do you guys think I would if I took two? My friend says its really intense but when I take one nothing happens. They are 500 mg tablets and it says its okay to take two. Thanks in advance.

They aren't 500mg pills. They contain 5mg hydrocodone (probably) and 500mg of APAP.

If you want to abuse them. Crush up the pills so you have 30mg of hydrodone and parachute them something. From there see if you want to increase your dose in half an hour by 10mg.

Do not take more than 5g (5000mg) of APAP in a day. That's 10 pills though.

500 milligrams of tylenol. The first number is the mg for the hydrocodone.

Thats being said, I would start off with 3. Thats a pretty low dose depending on the mg of your pills, but you dont sound to experienced with opiates.

I was just using the 500 as a general term. I just found out after I posted that there are different concentrations of the actual hydrocodone. My bad. It is 5/500 though

Don't take more than 4-5 without doing a cold water extraction on 'em. The hydrocodone won't hurt, but the APAP sure will.

for someone with no tolerance 2-4 is a good start. take 2 and give it about 30 minutes. if your not where you want to be then up the dose one pill at a time.

as the poster above me said dont take a ton of em with out doing a CWE. liver damage would suck.

The occasional large dose is not that bad, as long as you're not doing it too often. Also, individual factors vary the safe amount from person to person - the 4g/day limit is an average amount for the general population.

I disagree. The bottle says not to take more than 4g (8 pills) per day. This is easily a lowball estimate to make sure that they cannot get sued. You're perfectly safe not doing an extraction on 8 pills (assuming that you're taking APAP on a very uncommon basis) and I've never heard of anyone getting hurt by 5g APAP (10 pills)

You having never heard of it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. There have been cases of toxicity after as little as three grams; the guy who claims he took 8.5 grams either has the amount wrong or is extremely lucky, because 7 grams (http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic819.htm) is the usual toxic dose.

No, it's not too likely that 3g will kill him, but it could easily make him sick. A CWE is no trouble at all; liver damage is. I don't see why he wouldn't do one.

When you are dealing with APAP the risk of liver damage starts getting very real at I think about 6g if I remember correctly. That's with a single dose. Repeated low doses are bad, but as long as this is an every once in a while thing you should be safe if you stay under 6g. Granted, that doesn't mean you won't get sick, you just aren't likely to have very much liver damage.

It's possible to take more than 7g - but I really don't suggest you try it. I did and I got very lucky.

Several years ago I used to keep a lot of regular Vics on hand in case I couldn't find heroin. I didn't know about APAP and liver damage. The day did come when I couldn't find any heroin anywhere in Oakland - and believe me, I know where to find it if was to be found .

Anyway, I had a 1 to 2 gram habit at that point and so I just kept popping vics [I put House to shame ;) ]. I ended up taking around 65 Vics over a 2 1/2 day period. I started to feel extremely unwell. I knew the feeling because it was very much like when I came close to liver failure in my 20's from alcohol. So that made me look up the toxic dose of Vicodin [at that point I was thinking it was an OD of hydrocodone. I still had no idea APAP was so dangerous.

So I went to the ER and told them what I had done and they took me right in - which [I]really made me worried since the wait in Oakland's county hospital is usually many hours. So if they were taking me right in it had to be serious.

Bottom line is, they made me drink that god-awful charcoal crap, injected me with something to counteract or neutralize the APAP [kinda pointless at that point as I hadn't had one in many hours at that point. After about a half hour the Dr came back with the results of my liver tests and APAP levels and shit.

Obviously I made it. I'm not sure how and neither was the Dr. Not for the first time I should have died but didn't.

Im in Minneapolis/Minnesota, well I live in the burbs so I usually just practice under tunnels and behind chill buildings, I do bomb but it feels pointless when its not big city shit.
