Kind of long- TLDR version: read the title- conceited post about us (pix are a little random, just us!)

I just want to say thanks totse for finding love for me! I forget sometimes that this is where it all started. How amazing/fucking wierd is that?! The internet (uh especially here) is the last place I ever imagined starting a friendship, much less a lifelong relationship. We're getting married next month, I can post pictures if anyone would like to see (Well I'll probably post them anyway)

We just kind of clicked like we were meant to be friends all along. We talked everyday about everything- friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, life. When I finally went to meet him I felt like I already knew him. He became my best friend. Now I feel like I couldn't live without him. We've gotten into it plenty of times over all sorts of things but we always bounce back even stronger. When we fight breaking up is never even an option.

Now it just feels like things between us are getting better and better. The distance hurts but I get to visit him every weekend, and after we get married we're getting our own place.

I know we're young, I consider myself lucky. He says we just found each other early. We still try to see things realistically. If this doesn't work out, that sucks but it is what it is. I'll always love him no matter what happens. But it's too soon to look down that road.

My family loves him and didn't even consider the age issue. Friends and coworkers are divided. Half think it's awesome and half think I'm nuts. (Sider lol- I think it's funny that the same people who think I'm crazy for getting married young consider it okay to have a kid at like 18- Most times with no dad it seems. Anyone know what's up with that??) We both want a family eventually but not right now.

But what about the rules that apply to multiple 'ones'?
If a married couple is together for 'eternity' and in 'heaven'... what if one has an affair and the other catches the other?
What if they don't catch them?
What if a spouse dies and the surviving remaries? Which one would they be with in eternity?
What if someone kills their own spouse?

*sigh* It's all bullshit... but what is left then? What is even the bloody point of getting married? At the end of the day it's just a system that locks you in to ensure that you reproduce and pass your genetics into the doomed future before you begin to decompose.

Same with love, it's just hormones creating a type of 'obsessive compulsive disorder' that, like marriage, locks you in and ensures you fornicate enough to bring some more self-destructive humans into the world to use even more of the finite resources.

And that isn't emo... it's realistic but many choose to ignore it.

You sound like you've had your heart broken. But there are two side to thins like this. You're only looking at the government-al/technical/pessimistic-scientific side of love and marriage and not what it would mean for you personally/emotionally/spiritually. To me, TECHNICALLY, marriage is a piece of paper. It can't lock you in. People cheat all the time. It's something you do for society (legal purposes). However to me PERSONALLY (emotionally, forgetting all the government bs, forgetting logic and science) it's a promise, a committment when you know it's right. You don't feel the need to look anymore.

I'd stay with him and "fornicate" lol and multiply because I truly want to not because I'm stuck. I wouldn't let myself be "stuck" with a man- the moment I'm truly that unhappy I'll let him know and I'll go find who truly makes me happy. I feel like I have him now though.

And you say what's the point so pessimistically! If that's the case, what's the point of doing anything? Why shop or eat or type on the computer? You're going to die anyway right?
