Default The ending of a relationship.

I am in college and tired of my high school girlfriend. I would break up with her but it is prom season and she is graduating high school. There is a lot going on. Dumping her would leave her alone for prom and her graduation and everything else. I could wait a couple weeks until everything is over but I want to begin the ending of the relationship. I will not cheat on her, and I will not be mean to her. It is not in my nature. She thinks that we are perfect together though. How can I begin to show my disinterest in her so that in a couple weeks it will not come as a shock to her when I break up with her? Without being mean is there anyway that I could get her to break up with me? She dumped her other boyfriends for being too needy and annoying, I ignore her and don't care most of the time. This makes her want me so I don't know what to do?

Thanks in advance for the help

End it now on friendly terms. Still agree to go to prom with her.

This is a tricky situation.

I was in this same predicament last year. I wanted to break it off with my gf at the time, but prom season was coming up and we would then both be dateless. =(

So, being a dumbass, I stuck it through, though I was trying to send signs that it was ending. I guess she picked up on it because she cheated on me for a more spatially convenient and obsessing bf.

Prom sucked. So did the after party. She guzzled a bottle of bacardi then tried to call rape on me a few weeks later even though I made a point not to touch her anywhere more than I would a friend. Luckily my friends backed me up on that one, she was just bullshitting and trying to scare/threaten me.

So I should break up with her earlier rather than later I guess. It is tough because our families are friends and I end up seeing her a lot. My sister is one of her best friends too. If we break up I kinda want a clean break and some tome apart. I hear not seeing the other makes it easier on both people. I have been wanting to break up with her for a month or 2 but have put it off. I don't want to be like 30 and married to her and be like "oh, 10 years ago i should have cut this off." I guess I am just venting

Yeah, just break it off now. A lot of us guys have been there and I can say without a doubt that it was dumb to string the whole thing on. You know you're not right for each other. It sucks but the longer you keep it up the harder it will be. Get it over with.

Well my main question was whether I should wait or break up with her now. So that doesn't really answer my own question.

Wow! I was in the exact same situation as you about a month and a half ago. For a few months prior to that i knew we weren't "meant to be", but I kept putting it off so as not to hurt her. Then one day she was crying and all that and I was in a bad mood, so I told her we had to talk and all that jazz. I ended up telling her that I still wanted to be friends and do all that, which was a huge mistake.

We ended up breaking up, but since I said I wanted to be friends with her, she took that as "I still want to go out, but not officially". After about a month of her wanting to get back together, and being a clingy annoyance, I realized it just doesn't work being friends. So I had to tell her I can't be friends with her anymore, or anything at all.

It worked I suppose, but both of us, being horny as hell, came to a mutual agreement where we can, at any time, arrange a booty call (just got home from one, actually). It works, but time will tell i suppose..

My advice - Since you have been wanting to break up with her for a while, do it ASAP - the longer you put it off, the more it will hurt both of you - seriously. When you break up, tell her you'd like to be friends someday, but not now. If you two are on good terms, thats great, but it will make the breakup very hard on you. Try to talk to her as little as possible, and when you do, be really distant so she knows you aren't interested - if she still wants you, she will play you like a fiddle.

So, all in all, good luck, and still go to prom with her either way - she only gets one shot at it, and you'd have to be a real prick to fuck that up for her (and yourself) with so little time between now and then. Actually, you might want to wait until after prom, just so it isn't awkward for you when you're there together, because it would be damn awkward like a week after breaking up...plus, its prom = pussy!

You asked a lot of questions... Ex:

How can I begin to show my disinterest in her so that in a couple weeks it will not come as a shock to her when I break up with her?

And so I provided you with a way to end it over the course of a couple weeks.

So far, you're the only person to have noticed that I was gone! I thought for a second that maybe I drifted away completely unnoticed... :(

I was taking a break because I was spending so much of my time here. I figured that after so long, I could come back and try posting "once in a while" (or in moderation). Let's see how that goes... :p

*hugs and kisses back at you!*

I realise now that you were gone, gadzooks, but I have been trying other stations than the one of affection, much less sex. Welcome back.

As for the topic? For fucks sakes post in paragraphs, I didn't read a single fucking word of what you said.
