| Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Please try to keep your conversations "theoretical" in nature, since this is an open conference. |

Lsd
Well basically, about a month and a half ago I went to the hospital because I was getting severe palpitations and chest pains from cocaine, they did tests and said I was fine and it was only the cocaine and to give myself time to heal. I haven't touched it since and am now able to drink and get no pains and very limited palpitations. Me and some friends are thinking of hitting some acid, do you guys think it will raise my heart to a dangerous level if I don't have a bad trip? How is the heart rate increase compared to alcohol?

Re: Lsd
Number one, alcohol slows your heard rate, not speed it up. The lsd shouldnt increase your heart rate unless you get a DOx compound which isnt likely. I dont see a problem with it but I'm not a doctor, just try not to get too worked up and maybe have a little bit of booze laying around just in case.

Re: Lsd
While I totally get how this is a Bad Idea for you - it still might be more appropriate for Better Living Through Chemistry.

Are you joking? LSD is a vasoconstrictor, that's what it was originally designed to be used as... Of course it will make his heart go faster... it's like Le Chatelier's principle sort of.

Re: Lsd
LSD will raise your heart rate and could trigger palpitations. I wouldn't really worry about it, though. Chest pain and palpitations are both astoundingly normal, and as long as your doctor didn't diagnose any specific heart problem, you ought to be fine. Try not to think about it too much.
