I've heard in Holland and the surrounding counties everybody rolls their joints with 1/2 a cigarette in them. Is it really that common and why. Some say its because the weed is so good it doesn't burn well, I don't know...

Also how common is smoking weed in Denmark and Germany? Is it hard to find? I am going to Europe next month, so I am just curious.

Very popular and tolerable in Denmark (especially Copenhagen), not sure about Germany. I guess that varies a bit from where in Germany you are. Europeans roll with tobacco because you'll find 90% hash (unless you are in Holland). Hash won't roll a joint by itself, so it must be mixed with tobacco or weed, or smoked in a bong/pipe. And from there I guess the tradition passes over to weed aswell. I know my brother, a typical european hashish smoker, who after moving to Canada continued rolling with tobacco, even though he only got weed there. He'd put in maybe 1/4 tobacco. Because of this, I got used to it, and actually preferred spliffs. They taste better, burn better, and waste less. Note that the taste is an aquired one.

I use tobacco, not cigarettes though, rolling. Pretty much everyone I know does as well, though we do on occasion make a pure one. To be honest though, don't normally want to it is a waste. Even if you do get a bit higher. It doesn't burn as well and you don't need to to get stoned. About Germany, I went there once. Spoke to a few people said they smoked and they could get it. I also found a 1/4 of hash lying in the street. So it happens at least :)

Smoking with tobacco is nicer because: 1) the weed I get isn't shit, therefore, I don't need to smoke much of it. 2) Smoking with tobacco makes a spliff last longer and burn better. 3) The taste of a weed/tobacco spliff is nicer. 4) Non tobacco spliffs are, in fact, blunts. 5) Smoking a spliff with tobacco is far less obvious than smoking a bunt (for obvious reasons) when smoking outside. 6) Tradition.

Exclusively smoking weed in your spliffs (blunts) doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Surely, if your weed is half decent, you wouldn't need to smoke nearly that much in one go. And even if you wanted to, that same amount of weed would last longer if you mixed it with tobacco.

rolling those up with the shit i get can be expensive, i do it on special occasions it can be between 20-30$ for one blunt..

but if you chip in with a friend or two it can be decently reasonable and you will be high as hell all night

I've recently came over from Canada to the UK, it baffles me. I roll only pure weed joints, maybe with a little hash in there too. All these fuckers mix their weed with baccy, I don't complain if it's their weed and their rolling it and their sharing it with me. But my joints are pure, with no filter (they call it a roach over here)

My nephew gets a gram of weed and will roll about 5-7 joints with fucking tobacco in them and you need to smoke each one after the other to catch a buzz.

I did recently find the hash though, it's cheap as chips and pretty good (atleast the guy I get it from) about 8-9 grams for 20quid. I'm not touching the weed ever again, just hash for me now.

Thats why I don't smoke joints that much, I usually smoke pipes and bongs. I guess when I get there I will buy a cheapie glass pipe and carry that with me. I just love the taste of smoking some really good weed. I have rolled a spliff about 1/2 and 1/2, but I just love the taste of weed. :)

1. I generally use my pipe, or otherwise my bong, way easier plus I don't like to waste cigs.

2. Don't smoke the mix unless you already smoke cigs.

3. Mixed is better IMO but most of Canada seems to disagree with me, at least Ontario. People get laughed at for it. Personally love the high, the taste is godly and it gives you more time to smoke.

4. Even when you mix it your still wasting so fucking much. Spliffs are never really worth it IMO unless it's someone else's or I have to go somewhere I wont bring my pipe.

5. Tobacco seems to increase my buzz/make it stronger so even if I smoke out of my pipe (98% of the time) I'll still immediately spark a cig afterwards. It's also a useful way for me to test out the strand of weed and how high I am, cause there's the ritual of a cig afterwards and I can generally feel through that time period what the high will be like.

I'm not in Europe. Here's the San Lorenzian Special:

- One regular sized rolling paper, thin (like silver rizlas)

- Weed

Grind weed, pre-rub rolling paper. Place weed in paper, roll. No filter required.

I do not find the duration of the smoke too short. It tastes great all on its own. No weed ends up getting sucked out the joint just because theres no filter ... its fine.

I've also recently moved from Vancouver to a hashish and spliff smoking nation (Norway). Here, we always use filters (the price for weed/hash is 20 to 30$), so we don't want to waste any. If your nephew rolls 5 to 7 spliffs with one gram of weed he's got no idea what he's doing. With weed, I'll still just roll 2 joints with a gram, even with tobacco. If I got really good hash and a low tolerance like I currently have, I can get 3 to 4 joints with a gram. It's weed and tobacco, not tobacco with weed. Maybe 1/4 tobacco 3/4 weed is all it takes. The tobacco allows you to roll denser joints, and the filter allows you to get better airflow which allows even denser joints again.

I read in some post here someone calling spliffs weed without tobacco. Atleast in Vancouver, the definitions went as follows:
Spliff - Weed/hash and tobacco in normal rolling paper
Blunt - Anything including weed/hash in a tobacco rolling paper (this includes cutting up a cigar/cigarillo and putting weed in)

It might burn better. It might make you feel like your higher. There is no way in hell it tastes better though. Weed trumps tobacco any day of the week. I know, I know, different strokes for different folks. I just dont see why people would think something as dirty as cigerettes would make weed taste better. I love the taste of good herb, and I really dont know anyone who doesnt. I know plenty of cigerette smokers that hate the taste of tobacco though.

When I roll a joint I stick 2 Rizlas together in an L shape then tear the corner off the upright bit.

Put enough baccy in to pad it out then a normal joint I would put .3 of a gram of weed in (only know this exactly because I was talking to a mate about this yesterday). Then make a roach out of a piece of card and roll it up. Perfect every time.

It's incredibly wasteful to make a joint with just weed... completely unecessary. You hardly taste the tobacco too if you have decent weed.

And you've clearly not even read the whole topic, where I explain that Europeans mix it because you primarily get imported North African hash in Europe. You can't smoke hash in a joint alone, and you'll likely not find weed so you need tobacco.

Ever seen that movie "Thank you for smoking", how he explains that there are things you cannot prove, such as vanilla ice cream being better then chocolate ice cream. Well the same thing goes for taste in joints. Imagine a spliff (tobacco and weed) being chocolate chip ice cream, and weed being pure vanilla. Well you can't prove anything about the taste of it. You can't say it tastes better or is harsher on the lungs. Someone who has been smoking spliffs from the beginning will think spliffs are easier to smoke, same goes the other way. HOWEVER you can prove that spliffs burn slower, more even (not as much sideburn), can be tighter rolled, etc. Worst thing is you haven't even tried smoking spliffs regularly and you make these claims! Assuming you smoke daily, try smoking spliffs for just two weeks, then make conclusions. Myself, when I was smoking daily in Canada for a year, would always smoke filterless joints and such with friends. But at night me and my bro would sneak out of the house and smoke a fat spliff each night. So I've smoked quite a bit of both. From my experience with both I still prefer spliffs. Note that it was Vancouver, in Nova Scotia they like spliffs.

I'm an American and always throw some tobacco (American Spirits) in my joints. When you make 100% weed joints, the paper ALWAYS burns inconsistently. Tobacco burns smoothly and doesn't ash as quickly, which allows the weed to burn for longer as well, getting you more hits of weed than you would with pure weed.

My ratio is like 1 part tobacco, 2 parts weed. If I don't have a lot of weed, it's absolutely necessary to use tobacco, otherwise you might as well throw away the weed.

If you're smoking out of a bong/pipe, adding tobacco is solely done if you enjoy the mix. All the reasons for adding tobacco to joints are nullified when using pipes. So if you don't enjoy tobacco, you shouldn't be smoking joints. Blunts and joints without tobacco are wasting mother nature's most precious plant!

I just use a tobacco mix when I'm rolling a joint that's bigger than one paper. Once it gets like near an inch fat at the end, it burns too fucked up without tobacco IMO. As for the taste, I can't tell at all if it's mixed right (not that I mind, being a smoker).

amyll nitrate, yes. put a bit of a cigarette in a bong, pour a little cap full of poppers onto the tobacco - light, inhale and hold it in. It's fucked up. Expect a BIG flame off the poppers when you light it so be careful.

Adding some tobacco to the bong will make it hit you faster, but I don't generally do this. If filling the chamber slowly, the smoke will turn yellow and you'll easily puke from it. You do get the most powerful bong hits though.

Even if I have plenty of weed to spare and want to roll a big joint, I still like to add a little shag. Makes it easier to roll and burns more even. The tobacco can be hardly noticeable if you don't use more than just a little. I'll also roll half and halves, sometimes less. I enjoy them blended together.

By practicing rolling without a crutch, I've become able to roll joints that aren't so loose that you get stuff in your mouth, and aren't so tight that they gunk up so you can't hit it. After that, rolling up that piece of card just becomes something unnecessary that takes too long.

When the joint burns near the filter (roach for you UKers), you can inhale slowly to burn the cherry without it burning back into the cardboard. This allows you to get as much out of your weed as you would a bowl. With joints you always get a roach (roach as defined by American terminology, whats left of the joint that's nearly impossible to hit without a roach clip). Not only that, but with a filter it smells less on your fingers since there is cardboard and paper between ur fingers and the smoke, not just paper. Kinda like the same way pipes smell less on you, just to a lesser extent.

Whatever minor benefits you see in adding a filter, great for you, I just really don't care. I'm lazy. I don't care if my hand smells any more or less. I like saving up roaches.

And when I'm by myself, unless I'm in the mood for smoking a joint, I'm usually more inclined to use a pipe or bong anyways.

What the video doesn't explain is that you slowly drag the weed smoke into the chamber then just a bit after the weed is burnt you "Pull" and suck the whole cig down into the bong and all the smoke at once into your lungs. Within seconds you'll feel fucked and you will probably doubt how much so until you try it.

High is intense, shorter lasting but since you use less weed you do it more then just once obviously, it's really harsh and I've heard of/seen quite a few people puke their first time and I think it's two but maybe even three people have passed out at parties I've been at. Also it seems everyone from everywhere claims that that's where the method started and spread to everywhere else, somehow making themselves feel better.

Tip: If you're going to try it, when you "pull" do it really fast so the smoke gets right into your lungs ASAP and doesn't "hang around" in your throat because that will definitely make it a lot harsher. Also expect that you may experience a huge head rush accompanied with nausea and intense coughing (Sometimes puking).
