Default Growing poppies for opium

I know I am supposed to use papaver somniferum poppies, and I found a website that sells them but there seem to be a lot of different varieties. Which one should I order?

http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/search?search=Papaver+somniferum+

Edit: I'm thinking these might be the right ones :

Because if you look at this pic here: http://www.uni-graz.at/~katzer/engl/Papa_som.html

The pods look the same, am I right?

Anyone know if this is a reputable website?

Those are the right ones. As long as they are Papaver somniferum; I believe the "Cherry Glow" term is used to describe the flower's color when in bloom.

Peace.

What are the legalities of buying the seeds?

That website doesn't sell poppies yet.. and when they do it will probably be really expensive like some of the other sites that advertise their poppies as opium poppies.. it seems like it's cheaper at the "non drug" websites that just sell seeds for gardening, know what I'm saying?

Wait I know I'm gonna sound stupid, but isn't opium really easy to process from the pods of the poppy plant? So one could produce some opium for personal use quite easily?

No, it's incredibly difficult for someone who needs their hand to be held while they piss.

Yes, but I remember a news story recently about some old couple getting in trouble for having a large poppy garden in their backyard. If your neighbors are cool, go ahead and grow them, but some people are assholes. I don't think it's illegal to grow them, but if there's any evidence of you cultivating them, you might get your door kicked down.

I thought I read in an older thread, or maybe on a different forum, that it's illegal to knowingly have them growing on your property. Like if you are tending a garden and the climate is friendly enough that some seeds got in there for w/e reason and were growing but you didn't know they were the opium variety and continued tending your garden as you would with or without them, the cops might inform you of what they were and that you have to remove them. If you have em growing in your yard but its a tight and organized patch of em, you would probably atleast give you some trouble about it. If you got em in ur yard and a cop somehow finds himself there looking at a bunch of sliced pods, your probably gettin arrested lol.

If you want to do it, scatter the plants around your yard real irregular, but in places that you would be watering and stuff even if they weren't there. When theyre ready, slice em and scrape up ur opium and once theyre done oozing get those things uprooted destroyed and disposed of.

just my 2 cents. not 100% on the legal ramifications at the top but I believe its atleast fairly accurate considering the amt of grey area the DEA works with for the things.

Yeah, a black looking goo will come from the flower part I believe, scrape this dried from the plant. Thats all you have to do.

Given that your environment and all that is favorable for it. My friend planted some in his back yard and indoors in pots under fluoroscent lights... the outdoor ones died from the mid-day heat, and all the indoor ones got eaten by some kind of bugs or mites
