So I got into Melbourne 2 days ago, Im 19 and staying in a flat in brunswick, so far its been pimp. so many good looking women! Yesterday I went downtown to see what was going on and I came across this skate/surf shop which seemed to have only 18-22 year old females working there. So I get in there and wham, this drop-dead gorgeous 19 year old starts to help me out. So I start chatting it up, talking bullshit about how I need to fix my watch blah blah blah and then some older women who works there comes and helps me because she knows about the watch. FUCK, but the younger girl is still kickin it and hanging out until a buncha customers showed up. So I get out of there, kicking myself for not getting this girls name and all that. I stay out in the city for a while longer with the plan to come back and 'get some more info on the watch warranty'.

Once I get back to the place, I dont see this girl there and Im hounded by the same woman as last time. As SOON as she helps me the girl Im lookin for walks out for a smoke. CHRIST, so I get out there and by the time I do shes walkin the other direction and is inside.

I want to go back and get this girls name/number. I mean Im travelling so I dont really have anything to lose, but Im just trying to think of the best approach. Im hoping to get some dirt on the clubs and stuff like that since its Saturday night here and see what shes doing/show me around type thing.

The best clubs in Melbourne are on Thursday nights, all the indie rock clubs. Depends what kind of girl she is though.

Also, she's probably just doing her job, surf/skate shop employees are PAID to be like that. But hey, if you've got nothing to lose, go for it. Use the "I'm a traveller, what are some good night spots?" sort of approach, if she likes you she might give you her places, if not she'll give you other places and make sure she doesn't go there. There's PLENTY more attractive women in the Melbourne night scene :)

yeah thats a very good point, Ive just been back there 2 times, goin back a 3rd time might be seem a bit weird. but just like you said, Ill get some places either way. Im not a big fan of indie rock unfortunately, but fuck it I may have to go there anyways just for a good time. Im more of a drum and bass, breaks, hip hop fan.

Im here in Brunswick for 2 weeks probably, then Ill probably go on one of the gold coast tours for 2 to 3 weeks and then meet up with my family to travel some other places.

It's rough not having anyone to go out partying with since Im not the type to go to a club by myself, hence I want to meet some locals to show me how its done. A gorgeous, similar aged female local would be that much better XD.

Yeah I hadn't gone out until last night. Most people knew I was Canadian, the ones who didn't were promptly corrected. I don't really know where to go for the 18/19 year old crowd. I ended up in "Eurotrash" last night with a bunch of people around the age of 24. Still a dope time, met a bunch of people, but any advice as to where to go for people around my age would be awesome.

Oh okay, well since you're new to Australia, there are some things you should know.

The one night stand game is significantly different over here. What we do, is, when we're looking to get lucky at night time, we go out to the nearest billabong and find a little bit of mud and dirt and stuff, and roll in it for a while. Then get a red loincloth and some white face paint or just paint, and walk around drinking *your drink of choice* from a metho bottle.

That's just so people know you're on the lookout for love.
