Phentermine worth a shot?
A little pissed as I received these in turn by mistake instead of something else i requested/paid for. Are they worth taking? I got 30 15mg's. From what it sounds like(reading about it) it seems to almost sound simlar to that of adderall, from the way you dose it(early morning) and the effects. Anyone have any personal experience with it?
Probably going to snap down a 15mg tomorrow morning(too late now to test assuming theyll keep me up all night.)

Fuck yeah, I love phentermine. It's like adderall without the side effects. it's hands down my favorite stimulant
pop 30 mgs and rail 15 to get a real nice buzz going
smoke weed with it too, if you can

Yea pretty much, thats why at first i was like FUCK man what can I do...ahey??? Wait a minute thats a diet/appy suppressant...basically realized its got to have some type of parallel effects of that of amphetamines. Might be worth something to be after all. Rizzo does it last a long as time, and include that boosted focus like adderall? Does the shit make your jaw clench or your chin area extra stiff like addy does too?

Dude you cant be serious, phentermine doesnt touch adderall, if anything phentermine is like caffeine/ephedrine. Yes i tried all of the above, and thats from my experience.
So when i had 37.5 mgs and next try 2x that and it sucked as bad as ephedra/caffeine. No mental focus like adderall or the feeling of "power" just jittery restlessness. Then again i haven't tried railing it.

Re: Phentermine worth a shot?
It gives me all the euphoria and concentration of adderall with minimal jaw clenching, not as fast of a heart rate, and a fairly smooth comedown.
It's WAY better than caffeine/ephedrine, at least IMO. But different tokes for different folks...

Re: Phentermine worth a shot?
Well its a schedule IV and potential for abuse is there and listed...sooo it cant be all that bad compared to caffeine/OTC products. I know im not too thrilled about taking more than a certain amount of caffeine as its a not a clean way to get focus.

Re: Phentermine worth a shot?
Well i got my own review. Rizzo your halfway full of shit..you must be a younger/unexperienced user, just guessing cause they always seems to make "something out of nothing" so to speak. If not i apologize. I just popped another 10mg, makes it about 35mgs for the day.
It feels smooth, but no way really comparable to adderall or even ritalin. It provides equal focus to that of caffeine/energy drink, but alot cleaner and without the jitteryness. And i dont feel like shit either while on it. So in words
Phentermine > caffeine/ephendrine/otc products
Phentermine < adderall/ritalin
EVEN THO phentermine is listed in the amphetamine family, or so they say its similar. I guess thats why people would abuse it as it gives a more cleaner energy burst/focus then that of OTC products.

Phentermine is an appetite suppressant of the amphetamine and phenethylamine class.
It is approved as an appetite suppressant to help reduce weight in obese patients when used short-term and combined with exercise, diet, and behavioral modification. It is typically prescribed for individuals who are at increased medical risk because of their weight and works by helping to release certain chemicals in the brain that control appetite.

[edit] History
In 1959 phentermine first received approval from the FDA as an appetite suppressing drug. Phentermine hydrochloride then became available in the early 1970s. It was previously sold as Fastin from King Pharmaceuticals for SmithKline Beecham, however in 1998 it was removed from the market. Medeva Pharmaceuticals sells the name brand of phentermine called Ionamin and Gate Pharmaceuticals sells it as Adipex-P. Phentermine is also currently sold as a generic. Since the drug was approved in 1959 there have been almost no clinical studies performed. The most recent study was in 1990 which combined phentermine with fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine and became known as Fen-Phen.
A study was published in 1992 that Fen-Phen was more effective than diet and exercise with few side effects. However, in 1997 after 24 cases of heart valve disease in Fen-Phen users, fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine were voluntarily taken off the market at the request of the FDA. Studies later proved that nearly 30% of people taking fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine had abnormal valve findings. The FDA did not ask manufacturers to remove phentermine from the market.
Phentermine is still available by itself in most countries, including the U.S. However, because it is similar to amphetamines, individuals may develop an addiction to it. Hence, it is classified as a controlled substance in many countries. Internationally, phentermine is a schedule IV drug under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances.[1] In the United States, it is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act.
[edit] Mechanism of action
Phentermine, like many other prescription drugs, works with neurotransmitters in the brain. It is a centrally-acting stimulant and is a constitutional isomer (not to be confused with stereoisomer) of methamphetamine. It stimulates neuron bundles to release a particular group of neurotransmitters known as catecholamines; these include dopamine, epinephrine (also known as adrenaline), and norepinephrine (noradrenaline). The anorectic activity seen with these compounds is thus likely due to their effect on the central nervous system, which is consistent with current knowledge about the central nervous system and feeding behavior. This is the same mechanism of action as other stimulant appetite suppressants such as diethylpropion and phendimetrazine. The neurotransmitters signal a fight-or-flight response in the body which, in turn, puts a halt to the hunger signal. As a result, it causes a loss in appetite because the brain does not receive the hunger message.
[edit] Dosing and administration
Generally, it is recommended by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that phentermine should be used short-term (usually interpreted as 'up to 12 weeks'), while following nonpharmacological approaches to weight loss such as healthy dieting and exercise. However, recommendations limiting its use for short-term treatment may be controversial. One reason given behind limiting its use to 12 weeks is drug tolerance, whereby phentermine loses its appetite-suppressing effects after the body adjusts to the drug. On the contrary, it has been shown that phentermine did not lose effectiveness in a 36-week trial.[2] Developing tolerance can usually be avoided long-term by taking phentermine 5 consecutive days, then skipping 2 days each week. Due to the risk of insomnia, it is generally recommended that the drug be taken either before breakfast or 1-2 hours after breakfast.
[edit] Contraindications and warnings
* Patients with the following should not use Phentermine:
o An allergy to any ingredient in Phentermine or other sympathomimetics (eg, pseudoephedrine)
o Are also taking dexfenfluramine, fenfluramine, furazolidone, guanadrel, guanethidine, or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine) in the last 14 days
o Have severe high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, heart or blood vessel disease, or severe narrowing of the blood vessels
o Are in an agitated state, or have a history of substance abuse
* Some medical conditions may interact with Phentermine, patients with the following should consult with their doctor before using phentermine:
o Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
o Are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
o Have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
o Have a brain or spinal cord disorder, hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol or lipid levels
* Some medicines may interact with Phentermine, such as the following:
o Dexfenfluramine, fenfluramine, furazolidone, or MAOIs (eg, phenelzine) because the risk of serious side effects, such as increasing headache, high blood pressure, slow heart rate, elevated temperature, or possibly fatal lung problems, may be increased
o Serotonin specific reuptake inhibitors (eg, fluoxetine) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Phentermine
o Guanadrel or guanethidine because their effectiveness may be decreased by Phentermine
[edit] Side effects
Generally, phentermine appears to be relatively well tolerated.[3] It can produce side effects consistent with its catecholamine-releasing properties, e.g., tachycardia (increased heart rate) and elevated blood pressure, but the incidence and magnitude of these appear to be less than with the amphetamines. Because phentermine acts through sympathomimetic pathways, the drug may increase blood pressure and heart rate. It may also cause palpitations, restlessness, and insomnia. Additionally, phentermine has the potential to cause physical and psychological dependence.

Re: Phentermine worth a shot?
Just because its analog of amp doesnt mean its nearly as good. in my experience dexamp>adderall>ritalin>phentermine>ephedrine>caffeine
But to put it in leagues, phentermine is on bar with ritalin, below adderall and above ephedrine.
FYI you can buy phentermine without a scrip online just as easly as tramadol.
BTW what would it take to make phentermine into amp or meth? structually they all look very alike..

Well I am more sensitive to drugs all across the board, but I'm also guessing you didn't take enough. Try 30 mgs at once orally and then rail 15 mgs a half hour after that.

Re: Phentermine worth a shot?

A lot of bitchwork and a fair bit of losses.
If memory serves, phentermine is the a-dimethyl analog of methamphetamine. What one would have to do, then, is to remove a methyl group. The only half-reasonable way to do this is through oxidation.
Unfortunately, direct oxidization - say, with permanganate - is rather nonspecific, and you'll end up with a fair degree of stuff like phenethylamine, 2-nitrophenylisobutane, benzaldehyde, and some other crap, with a tiny amount of the actual methamphetamine you'd be looking for.
As for a more specific synthesis... well, careful synthesis and isolation of the monohalide would probably be a good start...
I'd guess one would want to acetylate the methylamine group to prevent competition for the halogen. After this, hard, hard reluctant reflux with Cl2 or Br2 or somesuch might just turn one of those methyl groups into a CH2Cl or CH2Br.
...at this point, you'll have to discard beta-substituted products, and possibly NH(CH2X) products, polymerization byproducts... and unfortunately, while said acetylation is more-or-less the best protecting group, it's still not particularly stable to the sorts of hard halogen reflux you'll need. Oh, and a number of metal contaminants (zinc, iron, aluminum, etc) will produce 4-halophentermine.
However, once you've cleaned up your limited yields of a-CH2X-methamphetamine, things get easier. Reflux in NaOH, and you'll have a-CH2OH-methamphetamine. Reflux this in Ca(OCl)2, and one will have a-CH2O-methmaphetamine.
'n smack that up with diammoniacal silver nitrate, or a handful of other reagents, and one will have (a,n)-dimethylphenylalanine.
Now, decarboxylation is simple with a ketone catalyst. Dump in some sage oil, reflux at 200c, and voila... much as phenylalanine decarboxylates into phenethylamine, a,n-dimethylphenylalanine decarboxylates into a,n-dimethylphenethylamine.
'n as we all know, a,n-dimethylphenethylamine is a synonym for (n-methyl)a-methylphenethylamine, also known as n-methylamphetamine or just methamphetamine.
It's not really worth the work, or the large projected losses from even the more-specific oxidation, especially since meth pops out of just about anything with a small amount of chemistry knowledge, if one were so inclined. (seriously... you know the bitter flavor in overburnt toast? I'll betcha that's pyrolitically-generated benzene...)
But, from a theoretical standpoint, since the only difference between phentermine and methamphetamine is an extra a-methyl group, the answer to "how easy would it be to convert it to meth" would be "as easy as taking a methyl group off" - which, sadly, isn't that easy, but it is possible... and not that terribly bad by the halogenative oxidation/decarboxylation method... just... not good enough to justify using phentermine over, say... barkdust, or bread... as a source for conversion to meth.
