I still haven't gotten around to installing 7. Is there any point getting 9?

lol, I just set up a server with F8. Ah well, not much point upgrading it. I'll be upgrading my laptop, though.

No worries i was going to download Fedora 8 but then i found Fedora 9 just around the corner, so i skipped 8 and now i am waiting for 9.

Btw i am on narrow band so downloading 2~4 gigs is a big fucking deal also add constant load shedding of electricity.

Don't worry i think by June i will have my own DSL broadband but people here don't seem to know or care about Open Source softwares.

Piracy is one of the biggest hurdle here, you can get Windows Vista for <1$ and guess what right now the market version of fedora is 7! and its on CDS! lol

Anyway when i can download 10 gigs of stuff 4 gigs is nothing for me

What's the differences between the install DVD and live CD?

I installed Ubuntu using a live CD and that worked fine, so I have absolutely no idea what else could occupy 3gb worth of DVD.

Is it worth waiting for 3gb worth of material to download? Or can you get all the stuff later?

Download the Install DVD it contains many many many packages, the Live CD is only if you want to run it from CD, it does not install Fedora 9.

Also download this one.

You can install from the Live CD. It's just it installs the live CD to your HD, rather than offering all the packages on the normal DVD and letting you pick.
