Meth.
So, say some police followed you home after buying some meth, and arrested you for purchasing methamphetamine, what would you say would be the possible punishment/prison time? For some reason the Arizona laws aren't very easy to find.
Edit: Mind you, this isn't me, I just want to know how long I won't be seeing a friend of mine :P

Re: Meth.
I don't see how that works *then again i'm not American*;
So the police let the meth dealer, deal it to you, just so they can bust you for possession?
Are they preventing crime?
Or just increasing it?

Re: Meth.
There are stings like this a lot in America, though I've never heard of them letting you make it home, it wouldn't surprise me though since they can usually find other violations then.
Its the the classic user sting, and some real BS IMHO. And OP it all differs on at state level, some its possession of a scedual 2 substance, some its possession of a "dangerous" substance, look up local laws, either way im fairly sure its a felony for meth. good luck

Re: Meth.
I'm calling bullshit.
The cops wouldn't watch you buy drugs from a dealer and arrest the user, that just doesn't happen.
^^^It is NOT the steriotypical drug bust.
The steriotypical drug bust is when an addict gets caught for possession and rats out his dealer.

Re: Meth.
Why the fuck didn't they eat the shit. And they'll most likely get probation, unless they have a vast criminal record, or they had larger than a personal amount.

edit; as I did say earlier though, I've never seen ONCE them follow the person all the way home, the story does seem odd b/c of that fact...

So the cops watch the white teenager walk up to the mexican twenty four year old, make exchanges and then bust the white kid.
Good logic, moron.

What are you talking about? I've also heard of it happening. For example, my friend stopped at a house to pick up weed and was arrested at a nearby gas station when he left. When the dealer caught onto his customers being popped he tried to run and that's when the cops got him.

Driving to a house looks like a delivery service, so that would make sence from the cops perspective of busting the (so thought) dealer.
If a cop was to ever arrest the customer over the dealer it would be because he percieved it backwards.
Common sence numbnuts.

That doesn't account for the all the other people getting arrested as they leave, apparently enough for the dealer to notice and take action. The dealer is usually still eventually arrested but you better believe the police will leech as much as they can out of a known drug dealer before going right in.

Re: Meth.
Well, it's a Felony 4 in arizona to possess a dangerous drug, which is what it's under. They're lucky they weren't put down for possession of Methamphetamine because in Arizona that's a felony 1. From what I researched it can be anywhere from probation to a year in prison. They said that they physically blocked them in the parking lot and ran up to the door and hit the glass of the truck to get them to roll down their window. Then they asked them questions, in which case they finally asked them to step out of the vehicle and place their hands on there back, and that they were under arrest, miranda rights, all that fun stuff. A local Drug Lawyer said that because they asked all those questions and physically blocked the car in it was illegally detaining the person. It was only like, two, three hits of Meth, that's it. What do you guys think the chances of getting probation instead of prison time is? I was thinking that it was a pretty high chance since it sounds like they're after the dealer and not the buyer. AND it was a very tiny amount. That was just my thoughts on it. They're probably going with a public defender since the lawyer was a good $8000 to hire, and they don't have that kind of money. So, what do you guys think?

I know a guy who got arrested for trafficking 4 ounces of meth and he just is on probation for a while. So I would think you'd be good.
