my family has a nice chunk of land, but my dad is too old and busy to protect it. we have a hard time keeping the ATV's off it. i don't mind them much as long as they don't destroy anything, but recently i've had two good areas for moral mushrooms completly destroyed. i really don't want to put up gates and fences because of the landscape, and i really don't intend to hurt anyone either, but i've fucken had it. how about i sneak through the woods with my double barrel 12 gauge and scare the living piss right out of 'em at gun point. think they'll ever come back?

Have you actually asked them not to ride on the specific patch of land? That usually works wonders. Is the land next to where you live? Firing a gun at someone who knows where you live may either scare them off or come back to bite you in the arse.

yeah, they don't listen. it's sad. cuz they can ride there for free as long as they don't tear it up, and i even let them grow pot there (i don't smoke) but i don't care if they do. but they rip everything to fuck and I'm done. they got a few trails and bridges across rivers. i'm gonna stretch barb wire across them as a last resort. police can't be called because nobody is ever "caught in the act" besides by me. i've also thought of some sort of spike strip and i'm waiting there to whip there mother fuckin asses.

edit: last year we stole 1/2 the plants we found and my friend sold them. but this is what i consider "coming back to bite me in the ass". i don't want to steal drugs, i just want to hunt mushrooms in peace.

Aw man, morel mushrooms. I'd be whoopin the ass of anyone fucking up my morel harvest, if I had one.

Have you tried explaining why you don't want them tearing shit up? I can understand if you don't want to let them know where good places for morels are.

I'd try scaring them with a gun. Wait til you catch them on your property and fire a few shots off and then make sure they see that it was you. I know I'd think twice about going back on the property of someone who 'shot at me' for being on their property.

Do you have no trespassing signs up?

Morals are great, I found about 200 this year. Fun to hunt and great to eat. I'd fuck someone up if they were running my mushrooms over.

Where do you live? Sort of critical considering major law differences...

i live in michigan. it seems to be that they are doing this on weekends. i'm gonna go turkey hunting this weekend (another mushroom destroyer) just to make my presence known, while being armed, but not threatening anyone. i can't tell them exactly "don't ride here or there cuz of the shrooms" because they'll just turn around and pick them.

I am not very familiar with tresspassing laws, but can't you shoot them? Riffle + rubber bullets?

In scotland there isnt such a thing as 'tresspassing' except people back gardens and such. If you own land people are allowed by law to roam...

Put up some signs, if ignored, go with barbwire and some nice tripwires between some trees.

Razerwire is better than barbwire. Plus he could make home made tire slashers.

All you need to do is stick sharp pieces of metal out of the ground at an angle, must be secure enough so when tires go over them they stay in the same place and rip them up.
