Well this is my first thread here since I'm kinda an anime fan, not diehard or anything, anyway, to ze point, before ze germans get here.

I've been collecting studio Ghibli movies, I'm not really an anime expert but I got Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away recommended to me by a friend and fell in love with those movies. Something about the magical atmosphere in the movies.

I currently own (original dvds);
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Spirited Away
- The Cat Returns
- Laputa: Castle in the Sky

Which other Studio Ghibli movies are an absolute must have? I must expand my collection.

My Neighbor Totoro
Princess Mononoke
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Kiki's Delivery Service

Grave of the Fireflies is also good, but with less magic and happiness and more depression.

I especially recommend Princess Mononoke along with the rest of NS's suggestions.

Yeah I saw that one while I was on my last dvd shopping spree, too goddamn expensive tho, I'll just download it.

Thanks for the recommendations.

What about Pom Poko?!?!

You might not like that one, it's about raccoons trying to save their forest.

Also, they have huge balls.
