I need a Linix distro for a 700mhz P3, with 512mb ram...

And it needs to be easy to use, preferably, as the primary user of the machine is my sister, who doesn't know anything computer related. The machine is currently running XP, and it just gets slower every day.

Could you recommend me a lightweight, easy to use distro, *nix users?

Fluxbuntu is lightweight and easy, but you might be able to run normal Ubuntu on that. You probably will, in fact.

That's lucky, as I just downloaded the most recent version for mucking around with on this PC.

Most versions of Linux will run on aforementioned set.
