Ginko biloba, fish oils, wierd effects
ok, i know this is going to sound retarded, so spare me all of the stupid comments.
earlier today i decided to live a healthier lifestyle for one week, and see if i feel happier or healthier. ive stopped smoking, ive started taking supplements, etc.
i went to the store and bought lots of supplements, including fish oils (Omega 3s and 6s) and ginko.
i took the fish oil and 60 mgs of the ginko right after leaving the store. i feel...different. almost high, but not really. like maybe eating half a hit of acid or a few hits of headies. this took me by suprise, because i havent done anything of the sort in 24 hours. Can anyone explain this to me? my guess is those effects came from the added blood circulation to the brain, because im fairly certain ginko is not psychoactive.
any thoughts?

Re: Ginko biloba, fish oils, wierd effects
Perhaps what you considered normal up until now was infact a terrible state of health and finally after so long, real health is like a high for you..
Nah, just fuckin with ya.
It's called a mood shift, fucked if i know what's causing it but the gingko and fish oils are probably atleast partially to blame. :)

And dear meta, WTF why do you lock my threads yet leave other threads of the same caliber open.
Be it about DOM, or the recently posted " I am drugs: slander" thread which was actually dam funny.

i also got some melatonin, and other health things, although its irrelevant because ginko and omegas are the only things i took. effects have subsided, but im still puzzled as to thier source.

Re: Ginko biloba, fish oils, wierd effects
I've been using fish oil supplements for the past few days and don't notice anything profound besides a lingering bad taste in the back of my throat.

just because you dont expect a high, doesnt mean a placebo effect cannot occur.
let me explain. after taking the medicine, you do something that triggers a release of dopamine. could be something little, but you enjoy.
then you think, wow im feeling happier, and it creates a snowball effect, and you might be a little happier, but the fact that your noticing it makes a big difference.
even though i know cracking my back on e doesnt make you higher, i still feel a bit higher.

That's not a placebo effect, that's called getting high without recreational drugs.
Hell, just about anything you do can change yr perception (or a shift of the assemblage point in Castaneda terms). Certain forms of music stimulate you in a manner similar to cocaine (hardstyle 4 lyfe).
You don't need to take something illegal to reach the top of the mountain.

"A placebo is a substance or procedure which a patient accepts as a medicine or therapy but which has no specific therapeutic activity for the condition. Any effect is thought to be based on the power of suggestion."

Re: Ginko biloba, fish oils, wierd effects
this thread has spiraled into unbelievable FAIL......
rapid influxes caused by changes in food and lifestyle (like smoking and nutrition) can result in a rapid influx of various chemicals in your body. This rapid influx, be it getting high or withdrawal, is what you experienced.
