| Better Living Through Chemistry Discussions of any and all sorts of mind-warping chemicals, pills, booze, mind machines, trippy stuff, current street prices, importing pharmaceuticals, smart drugs, nutrients, herbs, and altered states. Amphetamine degraded by white wine?
So, I have a metric shit ton of papers due soon, as the end of the semester closes in.
Naturally I procured an excessive amount of adderrall anticipating said work.
Yesterday, I snorted 50mg and got a NICE workaholic buzz.
Today, roughly two hours ago, I decided to try something different, and dissolved another 50mg in a half glass of white wine. I let it sit there for a good 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. I had taken 2 extra strength tums a half hour previous to aid in turning the amphetamine salt into it's freebase which is supposedly much more readily absorbed through the walls of the stomach.
I drank the glass, filled it up with water to catch any residue, and drank that too.
I smoked a cigarette, felt a little buzz, decided to go inside and start work. Two hours later, I am mildly stimulated, but also spacey and kind of paradoxically sedated...?
I haven't smoked any pot recently, and no other drugs were used in the last two days besides Adderall, Cigs, alcohol, and St. Johns wort (I know it acts as a metabolisation inducer on some enzymes, so maybe this is the culprit?)
Either way, I have dissolved amphetamine in harder alcohol (80 proof rums\vodkas) with much better results...
Is there anything specific to white wine that would fuck up my lovely amps? (Sulfites, etc.?) Or is this tolerance from using two days in a row? (Doubt that)
EDIT: And I have a ridiculously high alcohol tolerance. There's no way in HELL any of this sedation is from a (SMALL) half glass of relatively low proof white wine.

Are you tired? Could some of the powder have been lost on the bottom/sides of the glass?
EDIT: Good luck with the papers bro haha I know it sucks.

Re: Amphetamine degraded by white wine?
Heh, only way to know with relative certainty is to conduct a stratified, simple random double-blind test, pool results versus control, set an alpha level and then do some maths to see if your results were significantly greater than control using a two-sample T-test (since we are at loss for a sigma due to no data/pilot studies conducted on this).
On a more serious note, if these were adderall XR then maybe the higher alcohol content could tear through those beads better than simple dilute alcohol (white wine), emulating the hellish environment of your stomach?
Or it was a placebo-type thing?
Not to put you down for feeling placebo; when I'm drinking white wine with people, I'm in for a more sedate let's-discuss-this-over-some-cheese type deal.
When I'm pounding shots, it's fucking rage energy time.
Maybe there is some association?
Too many confounding variables.
Conclusion: ????
