FC6->FC9 using install disc updating

The title pretty much says it all. I know that Redhat does not recommend updating, and I worry particularly about updating a platform more than one spin old. However I dont feel like saving a whole bunch of directories and lists of programs when I can, assumedly, upgrade directly.

How risky is doing this?

Well, if your not really sure then think of it this way,
Whats the worse case scenario? Lights will go out, HDD will die etc
But whatever you do please backup all your IMPORTANT data. anyway i don't think anything will go wrong but if your still in doubt waiting for a while wont hurt.
