Calamus root
Important note: I'm satisfied with milder psychoactives just as long as they actually produce something "feel good".
Has anyone tried it? I heard the stomach problems are only caused if you chug way more than you need.

Re: Calamus root
I know someone who used it and iirc all that happened was he got a stomach ache. I'll ask him next time I talk to him, probably tomorrow or the next day, and I'll tell you what he said.

Re: Calamus root
Yea looks more like something for stomach aches and therapeutical value compared to something you want to 'dose up' on to feel the effects

Re: Calamus root
there is nothing good in it that will get you high/tripping
unless you give like 2.2 lbs to a chemist.

Re: Calamus root
I enjoy acorus calamus quite regularly. I like to use about one tablespoon of chopped root made into tea.
It’s hard to really put it’s effect in to words, other than it’s quite unique being that it possesses a subtle amount of an array of effects.
For example, it can affect ones vision by drawing their attention to the subtle things that will take a sort of shimmer.
It can prove to be pleasantly relaxing mentally, especially after one has becoming familiar with it. I’ve noticed with calamus - that it’s with continual use, over time, that you really begin to notice it true spirit.
Aside from what has been stated, I’ve also noticed calamus to be valuable for assuring stamina as well as inducing an appetite. -So calamus could definitely be of value to one who suffering from fatigue.
Lastly, never buy powdered material (and that pretty much goes for all botanicals) since the essential oils have a greater/faster chance of degrading. -Whole root is the way to go, also chopped root appears to retain quite well too when stored in a cold fridge in a tightly sealed jar.
.peace.

Re: Calamus root
And I really wouldnt mess around with trying to take large amounts of calamus in attempt to achieve a full blown hallucinogenic type of trip as some have.
However, if you interested you could experiment with combining calamus with other substances, ideally psychedelics ;) (always start small to measure the reaction of combining such substances)
Anywho, powder the calamus, about a gram or so of material to be smoked. During the come-up or during the plateau of a spiritual quest, spark a few bowls of calamus accordingly. -If all goes well it should be interesting.
.peace.
