Lately I've been smoking quite a bit of hash. Its pretty damn good I've just been smoking it out of my glass bowl using a screen. Now I've smoked hash quite a bit before but theres something I can't figure out... What makes a hash high so different from a weed high? Is it that theres other chemicals in the weed that effect the brain, where in hash its basically just THC?

Anybody know?

I think it's the shoe polish which is responsible for the different high from Hash. Or it could be the plastic. Or rubber. Or numerous other chemicals. Or rabbit shit.

Hash is made from just the crystals of thc on the outside of the leaf or bud, while when you smoke weed its all of the bud so you are gettin some other organic stuff in there too

Favourite way to smoke hash is in a joint with some tobacco. If I don't have that much, I just use my glass pipe

Bah, The best way to smoke hash is through a little brass piece pipe with a screen. You have to taste it, appreciate it.

As for smoking it, I just put it in a bowl and smoke it. I've found over the years that the simplest way of doing things is usually the best.

But I have tried some different ways to do it - when I was younger I did want to try a lot of the clichés [not always a good idea. For example: Do NOT try acid in the eye...].

One way I found worked well was the hot knives method.

Another was taking a small piece, putting it on a pin. Light it and blow it out so that it is smoking [kinda like incense] and then put a glass over it. After enough smoke collects in the glass, stick a straw under the glass and inhale.

Our hash is usually good but there is shit that is just ground up non mj herbs that people try to sell as hash.

Also the hash high is different because it generally contains more cannaboids per G or material compared to pure bud which obviously contains a lot more inactive plant material. I also believe, although I may be wrong hash contains some different cannaboids or at least different ratios due to and depending on the method that it was made by giving you different highs. It also varys with the strains it was made with just as smoking bud from different strains does.

The method Meta talked about where you fill a cup with the smoke is my favorite method to smoke most hash that i get, but if I get some pressed keif its best ripped from a bong.

My favorite way is to put a fair size nugget on a needle and light it. Put a cup over it and let the cup fill with smoke. Then suck the smoke out through a straw. Awesome.

I'm not sure why hash is different, really, but it certainly is. Good hash is infinitely more pleasant for me, than good weed. I find it more relaxing, there's no burn out, it smells and tastes better.... s'like comparing strong weed (cheap vodka) with a good red wine. The THC argument isn't really that simple, because the number of canabinoids which affect a high are numerous. Strong indoor weed though, especially, has been bred for higher THC levels, and lower CBD levels. There's something about the ageing process with hash which breaks down the canabinoids a bit; even with a sativa hash you never get that "buzz" of weed, it's much more of an uppy mellow feeling.

I was smoking some of the best Nepalese a few weeks ago, and no weed I have smoked has ever really compared as a "day to say" smoke. Sure, i've been more high before, more crazy, more tripped out, more whatever.... but high on hash i could read and concentrate fine, go climbing, talk, go into town, explore..... all was good. There has to be some truth to the "anti psychotic" (almost...) properties of CBN, cos when i smoke hash, the high feels so much more balanced out.

Personally, as I smoke cigarettes, and like spliffs anyway, I like just picking bits in, or rolling really think bits of hash and making a nice joint with tobacco. Failing that, pipes/bongs are pretty nice, as are vapes. In the words of a crazy hippy I met though.... "the ganja and the toba-ccccooooo..... mixed together man, is tantra, you understand man? Is perfect! It's TANTRIC!" lol! :D ;) :p
