Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
I live in Los Angeles. This morning there was a news segment about the governments increasing awareness of the dangers of salvia. They mentioned that there was actually a case of a death attributed to salvia, also. The fact that minors can purchase the drug anywhere is one of major contention, but moreso, whether it should be made illegal here as well. An "expert" said that were a teenager to smoke salvia and try to operate a vehicle, someone would "certainly die".
Ive tried salvia a few times, and never had any notable experience.
With publicity like this though, it looks like future generations wont have the chance to experience it for themselves. Once the soccer moms get wind of this, all the anti drunk driving mothers will coalesce and start Mothers Against Smoking Salvia.
They also said that its not proven that salvia is completely safe. The part I toally LOLd at wasa when they had testimony from a.....get this...."recovering salvia addict". He said "It ruined my life. It took everything I loved away. Just gone in a puff of smoke." Hahaha addictive salvia? What WONT people get addicted to?

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
Great. Isn't there something that we can fuck up for them? Isn't there some way we can retaliate? Isn't there something we can take away from them?
Why do they all have to ruin shit for us?

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
What do you expect? You got people smoking it around a bunch of people like weed. Even if they ban it it will still be around. Just like every other drug.

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
Perhaps it should be made illegal. Those of us determined enough will still be able to get it, anybody else will not. I'm hearing more and more stories about people I know trying it, they have no idea what they're doing and it pisses me off. Many of us know the potential power of a salvia trip, it's something a lot of morons who will try it can't handle.

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
At headshops they sell salvia as an "incense", when I even implied that I would be smoking it, the lady said, "no, we sell it as an incense!" (hint hint I have to tell you that so I don't get in trouble, but I know what your really going to use it for) . This is there excuse that kinda saves there ass. I don't know if they can still make it illegal though..
Even if they do make it illegal, the die hard salvia fans will still be growing it just like pot, so im not woried. It just might be a little bit harder to find. ;)

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
A few years ago, when salvia wasn't as well known, I introduced a lot a people to it 'cause I thought bullshit like this might happen. I'm glad they got introduced to it in a good setting and stuff instead of thinking it's a weed alternative.

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
haha the idea of driving on salvia is utterly absurd. i remember i smoked some 10x extract outside and was becoming rapidly more and more nervous as i lost touch with reality so i attempted to get to my recliner, i was just nervous of what to do in case someone came up because i was VERY fucked up.
when i was outside my vision was 9/10 "salvia vision" and 1/10 real vision. i thought a female manifestation of salvia was talking to me and showing me through a forest with mushrooms and elves and twisted talking gnarly trees like in mortal kombat, then when i finally made my way inside it seemed to me i was walking through my hallway and in my room but then i would be warped back to the beginning of the hallway repeatedly, then i finally made it to my recliner where i started to warp into my chest of drawers and became stuck as a portion of the chest of drawers looking out. then i finally regained my senses but goddamn, how on earth would anyone FEEL like driving of all things on it.
its perfectly fine if your sitting somewhere comfortable where you will be alone for about 20-30 minutes then smoke it, thats what i do and theres no nervousness and i can actually embrace the experience rather than fight against it for 10 minutes trying to make it to my damn recliner.

Seriously, the only appeal Salvia has anyway is that it's legal. Noone is gonna bother with that shit, once they schedule it.

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
In my state, the cops are arresting people for selling it, even though it is not a scheduled substance. In one case, a head shop owner was arrested under a statue that makes it a crime to distribute any "mind-altering" substances. One has to wonder how such a law got on the books in a state with the highest amount of liquor licenses per capita in the United States...

Re: Great. More Salvia Alarmists?
I live in Massachusetts, and they (fox) had a "Salvia: oh noes" "special report" on. It showed some shitty youtube video, with two attention whores on a bed laughing and one falls over. You couldn't even tell if they were on anything.
Fuck the government.
