Driving on acid
I know people that can do it but fuckin hell its a complex task. I'm never gonna do it again unless I'm on low doses. Don't get me wrong now I can keep the car steady and turn corners smoothly and my reflexes are quick enough to stop if someone comes out in front of the car but I had to put my mind to it to remember to stop at traffic lights and parking the car properly was a physical impossibility. You shoulda seen some of the fuckin parking jobs I did.
All in all its good fun but its way too complicated. Someone on an internet forum told me they drive whilst on ayahuasca. I thought driving on acid was mad I can't even comprehend how mad driving on DMT would be. I don't think I'm ever gonna try it either.

Re: Driving on acid
Don't drive on drugs. It's fucking retarded. It takes a relatively safe activity and makes it deadly for the user and everyone on the road. And if you do get caught, the judge and whatever jury you get is going to nail your ass to the wall. You'll end up without a license for at least a year plus a huge fine. And if you get into an accident, you're insurence complany will find a way to not cover you, so you'll end up paying for 100% of the damage and legal expenses.
Ride your bike on drugs. It's fun, mind opening, and safer.

Yeah weed is fine for MOST people. I know some people when they smoke they become complete retards and can't drive to save their life.

ya, but then you're running the legal risks that I said in the other post. I'm fairly sure that if you drive under an illegal substance, your insurance can not cover you for any accident you get into (while under the influence of that substance).

Re: Driving on acid
ive driven my friend home while coming down on mushrooms about 5 or 6 hours after taking them... it was only about a 2-2.5g dose of fairly weak shrooms. i still had no idea where the fuck i was going, but i got my friend home and then drove around in a more familiar place... driving was incredibly stupid given the fact that i had a bong and weed in the car and nowhere to go.. ended up going back to that friends house and crashing there...

Re: Driving on acid
When I trip on mushrooms I drive and have no problems...
Although I only ate 1.8 grams during the day, and it isn't a problem at night at all on almost any dose. But, it gets hella boring driving all the time while you're tripping, it really takes away from the experience.
Next time I'm just chillen somewhere.

Re: Driving on acid
The thing I don't like about driving on acid - and I've done it only when I had no other choice - is that you can't feel the traction of the tires on the road. It's like driving on an air hckey table.

Re: Driving on acid
I've driven while coming up on shrooms and I can say I will never be doing that again. Of course, I only did it because I didn't have a choice.
It was all back roads that I knew like my ass crack. It was the best feeling in the world when I got home though. Fuckin' crazy though. Felt like my foot was directly connected to the gears through the clutch.

Re: Driving on acid
It just takes complete and utter concentration, and a destination nearby, like less than 10 min away.

Like I said it was mostly on backroads so I was in 3rd most of the time except when I came to stop signs, etc. Shifting was fucking crazy though, it felt like the gears in my car were just an extension of my leg. It was only about a 10 minute drive thankfully. But it felt like forever.

This! Also every time I accelerated the speedometer numbers and needle got really fat and then dripped. Cars seemed to be like animals (Same on 2cI, but driving itself was much more controllable). Another time, I was not driving, but someone else was while we both were on lsd and it was raining a tad bit and really dark out. We laughed every time the windshield wipers popped up (like we forgot they were on, and it was new each time). We also sat at a stop light for about 20 minutes (which is odd since we live in a metropolitan). It probably changed colors a few times, but who knows. Never again is all I know.

I did it on acid. That's not hard at all. Shifting and clutch is second nature to me so it was no problem.

Let me rephrase, since I was drunk when I typed that... How does your crippled ass drive when you said your neck is fused so you are looking at a 45 degree angle at the ground?
It seems to me that if you tried driving, you'd have a very nice view of the steering wheel/pedals.

Re: Driving on acid
Myself and my good friend thought it would be a good idea to get drunk and drop a tab then construct some elaborate story that involved us borrowing my housemate's car to go and pick up some outrageously mundane object. Like an antique vase or some shit. I don't know why he believed us. We drove 5mins down the road the the hospital carpark and proceeded to do burnouts. Found ourselves 'trapped' in this carpark which was entirely ridiculous considering it was an open one. Eventually 'got out'. Went home. Security should of come busted our stupid asses.
I then decided to drive the recently moved-in Englishman's car to the service station, went round a wet corner, hit the curb, blew the front left tire out. Spend the rest of the night/morning at the service station looking like a crack head in a singlet and bermuda shorts trying to put this tire on with a spoon and some vaseline. Got it on eventually.
I try not to do stupid shit like that anymore.

Re: Driving on acid
Pretty funny story about driving on acid.
Last year (2007) at the Langerado music fest in Florida, after the initial festival day was done (10 pm), everyone who didn't have a camping pass went their seperate ways throughout Fort Lauderdale. Anyway, there was a late night show in town, about 30 minutes away, so I program the address into the GPS and my friend drives us there with a head full of acid. He spends most of the drive staring at the GPS, pretty much letting it drive for him. If there weren't 5 lane highways for a majority of the trip, we would have been screwed.

Fuckin' right it is. Especially really fast on curvy backroads.

Re: Driving on acid
I've driven on acid quite a few times and did completely fine but theres NOTHING worse than driving through literally sheets of cold hard rain and not being able to see 3 feet in front of you just the mixture of moving lights and shit all around you.

Simple: I adjust the seat back.
You sure you're not still drunk? That seems obvious.
