More of a question of morals
So my mom confronted me on recently re-started cannabis smoking. (I had been caught a year ago and stopped) I didn't get in trouble but she told me to stop and was kind of hurt by it. I was completely honest with her, and just admitted it. I explained to her that because of the nature of my use (not to escape, not compulsively or excessively) I highly doubt I'd become even psychologically addicted. (she doesn't believe me that pot isn't physically addictive) She has recovered from alcoholism and drug addiction and is mostly scared I'll get out of control like they did.
Now would it be wrong to continue using cannabis? Like, would that be a real dick move? I don't use it to just get fucked up, I'm not a party guy. I just enjoy the altered perception.

Its subjective, so no. You don't do anything you percieve as 'wrong' by smoking, nothing 'wrong' is happening. Unless you consider disobeying your parent to be 'wrong', but you've already done that, so ...
From her perspective, just simply smoking pot is 'wrong', and the fact that shes confronted you with this and you continue to do it just makes the situation continue to 'worsen'. To her, anyways.
From my perspective, you aren't doing anything wrong at all. Don't ever let your mom fin out, because she will take it as something negative. And if maintaining her illusion that she's raised you to be a certain way is more important the being who you feel you are and doing what you think you should do, then don't smoke pot.
But I would just try to keep it from her.

Re: More of a question of morals
If your mom asked you to stop jacking off, if that hurt her deeply and she says god doesn't like you doing it, would you stop fapping?
The answer is no, you probably wouldn't.
But, it's entirely up to you. If you don't want her to be pouring over it, just don't smoke until you move out. It's not rocket science.

Re: More of a question of morals
The thing about mothers is that most will love you no matter what you do. If it's morally wrong to do something that she disapproves, then you'll just have to live with that knowledge. If you can't live with upsetting your mother, then you have to stop. Otherwise, she will have to accept it and try to understand.
But most potheads don't smoke regularly their entire life, so you have that to look forward to. :)

Re: More of a question of morals
Well if you just try to hide it from her, that is kind of shitty and will probably hurt her more if she finds out. I think that you should find a bunch of scientific internet articles that talk about the fact that pot isn't physically addictive. If that doesn't work just try to come to a compromise with her. Anything else and you risk destroying your relationship with your mom, or at least diminishing it. It's a matter of which you value more, your relationship with her or smoking weed.

Trying to convince someone who is anti-drugs that drugs aren't bad with science is like trying to convince a catholic/christian evolution is real with science...they don't care what proof you show them, they're content to remain in a state of self-imposed ignorance.

That is true.
And my relationship with my mother is tons more important than some weed, shit.
But here is my game plan. Yeah I am going to continue, just occasionaly though, but I am going make a THC glycerine tincture so I have no paraphenelia and weed to hide. And I am not going to discuss drugs over text messages. *thats how she found out this time, we have the same type of phone and my phone got a text message. It sounded weird and she knew it wasn't for her, but she read the rest about pot and such.
