Sooo, I need help telling my mom to smoke pot...
So I think my mom should smoke pot. Not for recreational reasons, but for medical. Bt she is all caught up in the "reefer madness" propaganda. She knows I use to smoke, which I no longer do. So anyways, she always complains about how stressfull her job is, and how her feet always hurt from working. And she has nausea like a mother fucker... It's pretty obvious to me she could kill 3 birds with one green stone... and stop paying for all the other shit that doesnt work... But I don't know how to convince her... Ideas?

Those are not medical reasons.
Edit: except nausea.

It's been a while for me, But stress and pain usually didn't seem to affect me when I was high.

Re: Sooo, I need help telling my mom to smoke pot...
Just search for a bunch of medical tests online, print them out, have her read them.
Unless she's too close minded to even read the shit, then you're probably shit out of luck on this one.
But yeah, just give her a bunch of professional documents of the medical benefits of marijuana.
Even explain vaporizers to her, if she doesn't want to smoke them. Hell, cook her some brownies or weed crispies.

Well if she's like most moms she'll probably be mortified that you are suggesting that she smoke pot. Maybe you should bake her some weed brownies or something and not tell her there's weed in them.

dont never give anyone shit w/o telling them, especially your motherfucking mom man...
I'd say its a lost cause, tell her you think it may help her and offer to give her a joint to try out, if she says no let it go like that. For some folks tylenol and dramamine is all they will ever accept outside what a doc would give them..

Yeah seriously though you really shouldn't give people stuff without telling them what it is or what is does. Someone did that with shrooms to my mom when she was a kid and because of that she became so anti drug it's ridiculous.

Maybe she is trying to set a good example for her son which is the most important thing to her not her feet or nausea.

A good example... by believe lies...
Idk where I heard this, I wish I had a link, But I heard that the former head of the FDA actually aknowlaged that certian plants/herbs actually helped with illnesses but were not validated because it would cut into big pharm budget.

The fact is.. it's just not "normal" to do that. She's an adult, and either associates marijuana with dumb stoners or negros, or criminals. If not all 3.
It probably won't happen, and I've grown to accept it too, and believe me my mom is so similar to the description of yours it's eerie..
ALWAYS nauseous, stressed out and feet hurt.
I smoke and she knows, she doesn't approve but she doesn't care.
Every time I go out she tells me not to, and every time i come home, she either calls me out or just gives me a funny smirk, even if i am not blazed at the time she always thinks I am. and that's it.
i asked her and she was like "i could lose my job!"
and I told her I would let her try it when I was older and she was like "you are crazy!"
but you gotta understand my mom is rarely serious when she says these things.. idk i'd like her to try but i don't care much.

Re: Sooo, I need help telling my mom to smoke pot...
It's just a pathetic phase that every idealistic stoner teen goes through.
Nothing you say will influence your old dear to smoke weed if there is genuinely no desire to do so in the first place.
Especially if she's the uptight and misinformed but still set in stone type.

I wouldn't say it's a phase. It's a fact, the dangers of pot are greatly exaggerated. It's not surprising that a smoker could see it's discussion as a compellingly-simple argument.
I've gotten into a number of arguments with my parents and it has really given me some insight into its absolute futility.
My father, the mildly rational of my parents, refutes any study that I reference as misinformation propagated by devious "potheads." His logic works by the system:
Pot harms your brain, causing the user to become significantly less intelligent. It is also highly addictive. Jointly these factors cause users to find any reason to justify their addiction.
The barrier with my father is the more common one. He has always been told that marijuana is dangerous and unavoidably harmful. Also, that users of the drug are potentially dangerous and not in complete control of themselves. He has lived with this argument and it has remained undisputed because he has been trained to avoid association with users, which is also consequently the other side of the argument. I'm not capable of explaining this concept, that he has been taught to only see one side of the argument. It's sad to say but I think he would get lost in the critical thinking involved in the argument, give up on figuring it out and dismiss it out of frustration. Additionally, the assertion that he has been lied to (as he'll see it) by people he respects and admires would probably come off as condescending and tactless.
My mother is the lost-cause type. She won't have anything to do with the discussion and believes that even seeking knowledge on the topic is bad.
Pot is wrong because it's illegal and it's illegal because it's wrong.
Btw, I'm all tweaked and stoned which explains the rambling on something I normally wouldn't care about.
