If not acid, then what?
So, the other night I picked up a couple of tabs. I've had a lot of experience with cid in the recent past, including a very memorable IV trip. So I bought these abs and dropped with a mate. First thing I tasted was a bitter, metallic sorta taste, which immediately said to me it wasn't acid, and was most likely a DO* tab. Which I'd be cool with, I'd be happy to pay for a hit of DO*, as long as it was represented as DO*.
Taken sublingually, about an hour and a half post ingestion I was feeling pretty lucid and thought processes were very... 'out there'. I hit a few whip-its, with predictable, however the buzzy sort of feeling one normally gets after a nang lasted much, much longer.
I was definetly high, I had a very deep period for about half an hour of intense writing and a feeling of being locked up in my own world, and at one point some friend's of mine showed up and I freaked out for a moment because I couldn't recognise them (though they were LE or something) but that only lasted about three seconds.
For the next eight hours or so I had muscle weakness, slight confusion, muscle twitches, heavy mental effects and creativity boosts, as well as being very open and aware, I shared a few deep secrets and was extremely in-touch with my surroundings, which I appreciated on a very deep level (It was a beautiful bushland area). The rest of the next day I was sober, but still feeling weak and nauseated. At no time during the night was there any visual hallucinations except for an extremely minor kind of coloured static that was washed over anywhere dark I looked, and lights tended to flicker.
I suspect it was a low dose of some DO*, but I'd appreciate BLTC's input.

Very interesting, I got no fucking clue though I would think even a low dose of DO* would last longer than you said.

Re: If not acid, then what?
The time I got a DOx tab I was still 'tripping' at the 12 hour point and couldn't sleep until T+16 hours...

Re: If not acid, then what?
I hadn't slept in the past 48 hours so the fact that I managed to stay awake across the entire night (fell asleep about 10am when I went home, slept till 2pm) attests to the stimulant effect.

Re: If not acid, then what?
Yea I got my hands on a couple of blotters of what I suspect was DOI last summer. The guy sellin it was saying it was 2C-I, but I was like no way that shit is fittin on a blotter this small.
Dropped with 3 other friends, they took 1 each and I took 2
Lasted a good 8-10 hours until I was able to sleep but I think the only reason I was able to was because we just kept smoking blunts until we passed out, and I was still tripping hard when that happened.
It had a really nice body high compared to acid

Re: If not acid, then what?
there was an analogue on tikal or pikal that is described as to have the same effect you had.

Re: If not acid, then what?
At All Good I bought a tenstrip of an Alex Grey sheet, and it turned out to be a DO*.
It's a really good trip, but if you're expecting acid and you get that, it'll definitely catch you off guard.
I tripped face for about 20 hours, and ended up wandering all over the place.
Luckily, I didn't take it at the festival.

Re: If not acid, then what?
Ya know, a metallic taste doesn't automatically mean it's not acid.
Any number of things can cause that, so judge from the experience and not your paranoid tastebuds. :)

Re: If not acid, then what?
Well...
For the next eight hours or so I had muscle weakness
Generally speaking, this is a pretty good sign of nicotinic acetylcholine antagonism.
This is sort of ironic, because...
muscle twitches,
...usually implies a surge of acetylcholine in skeletal nicotinic axons. In fact, it requires it.
Of course, that can come about when an axon has been firing like a bitch trying to make a plugged receptor work, and then that receptor becomes unplugged...
...any dry mouth? Drooling? Difficulty passing urine? Breathing difficulties? Extreme decongestion? Be vaguely interesting to find out what your muscarinic system was doing in response to this.
Anyways, the rest of your description sounds like 5HT activity, except the "confusion" bits, which could be damn well anything. Find the hallucinogen with the most signifigant nicotinic anticholergenic potential that would fit on a blotter, 'n you've got your answer.
Oh... and colored static is pretty glutamate-specific, but we'll figure that out later.
Frankly, it sounds interesting. Definately a mystery to be solved. 'n quite an unusual one as well.

Yes, no, a little, no, no.
Off to do some research, then. I think this'll take a while...
