Nitrous Oxide and effects.
Hi,
I ended up with a new whipped cream dispenser and 25 whippits last night and would appreciate any N2O advice that you have had experience with.
I filled a balloon with the gas and then inhaled off of that and then released my breath. It was a Kool Whip container that we were using last night. After standing upright for 2 hours I still only got ONE balloon off that, and I felt little to no effects after doing 4 of these balloons in a row.
Do I need to use the balloon like a re-breather a few times for the full effect? I know not to bag my head and turn blue, but there must be something I'm missing out on, otherwise I'm selling the whole package and buy some beer. LOL
My whippits are made by ISI and are 7.8g. How many balloons should Iget from my new dispenser;and, how many for a buzz, being a male of 39 years and a well-muscled 240 lbs at just over 6 feet.
I'd rather user a small cracker, but haven't seen any in my area of Ontario.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
I hope you're holding it in as long as possible. Breathing back into the balloon and inhaling again helps too. Oh, and inhale as much as possible. Just try not to pass out and hit your head.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
You need to hold the ENTIRE balloon(one whippet) in your lungs for at LEAST 15 seconds to get decent effects.
Not super fast seconds either. A good 15 seconds on a digital clock, 25 seconds absolute max. then let it all out and take a big breath of air.
I like this method ALOT better than the rebreathing method.
Oh, and make sure you're sitting down. ;)
EDIT:
And obviously, blow ALL air out of your lungs before breathing in the nitrous.

If you can't inhale nitrous oxide, which is probably the simplest fucking task in the world, you pretty much fail at everything.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
just inhale off the dispenser man, if your solo you don't need the balloons. just keep poppin em in, inhaling, and going farther, remember to breathe air on occasion, pop another, inhale, repeat until box is empty and your head is rushy and you're voice is 3 octaves lower.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
Once you figure out how to use them, I wouldnt do to many back to back. Gave me a pretty bad head-ache.
On another note, anyone here try whippets while rolling? That shit had me so far off this earth I thought I was going to die for a few seconds.

Hi,
Thanks for all the information and tips. I'm heading out to do it now without balloons, breathing out first, and then trying to hold it for a s long as I can.
Couldn't help mentioning the depth and years of wisdom that went into your post. I hope that you ask questions, like the rest of us.

Nitrous is awesome because not only is it super euphoric, but it actually tastes good.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
Nitrous fucking sucks. If you must do it then, yes, you have to re breathe the balloon. your body used it up fast, so you can probably only get two or three uses from a balloon.
If you're around Toronto and want to try it out, I've got 2 1.5lb tanks of it.
Still, it sucks,

cRoN_ICE2, I live in St Catharines, which is around an hour of driving time(depending where you live).
I have to ask how you ended up with the tank, that's awsome! I still have several types of regulators and a ton of clamps and fittings from a brewery that screwed me in the past.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
Well I was sitting up at 4am the other night and found a bottle of whip cream and I was like..Fuck it, shwoooooooooop and sucked it all in. I forgot it replaces your oxygen and after a couple seconds I realized I had no air. I just kept holding it in though, felt like I was damn near suffocating. The more I held it in the trippier it got.
I guess the point of that statement was to hold it in as long as you can.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
Step one: Fill balloon with one canister
Step two: Exhale all the way
Step three: Breathe from the balloon until you feel it
Have some good trippy music playing
Its great combined with other drugs, like shrooms
Just don't do it too often because you are basically starving your brain of oxygen.

lol, not if you remember to continue to breath in oxygen. If the only reason nitrous 'works' was because it starves the brain of oxygen, then they wouldn't use something so damaging as an anesthetic.

Thats a constant flow, through a regulator, with oxygen mixed in.
For recreational purposes, there is the canister, balloon, and cracker.
Try doing one where you 'remember to breath in oxygen'
and try one where you inhale and exhale into the balloon for about 15 seconds.
Which time did it hit you harder? Yea, thought so...

What I do is put 3 canisters in my dispenser, take a hit and hold it in for a few seconds. When the effects are starting to lessen I take another hit. Repeat 'til gone. 'Tis awesome.

Interesting, ive been in need of an upgrade from this shitty 2 dollar plastic thing. Does it crack multiple canisters at once?

It hits you either way, which means that the mechanism of getting high when simply inhaling laughing gas is not the same as depriving your brain of oxygen, which means telling people that doing nitrous is "basically starving your brain of oxygen" is incorrect.
Try inhaling all of the balloon, holding it, exhaling into the balloon, breathing some air, and then repeating.
This way you do not deprive yourself of oxygen.

Regardless, it still displaces oxygen in the lungs, and therefore the brain.
Hence the request for moderation

This is what I have.

You crack them one at a time, but it can hold 3. I prefer sucking straight from the dispenser, but it can also be used to fill balloons, so it's better than a cracker.

Obviously. Which is why if you remember to breath, you do not deprive yourself of oxygen, and why oxygen is mixed in with laughing gas at the dentists.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
I bought the tanks from a surplus store a while back. I tried selling them here for $30 each, but had no takers. The store no longer has them so I'm not going to be selling them as I use them for my motorcycle.
You can just buy a 10lb NOS tank off ebay for ~$100 if you do a search for "NOS bottle." The place I go to for fills charges $7.50/lb.

If it's for automotive use you do not want to inhale that AT ALL. It has some terrible toxins in it.

The place I go to is a racing shop, but they usually sell it without the sulfur dioxide. Removing the sulfur dioxide is trivial: You just put a few hundred mL of water in a garbage bag, fill it with nitrous, then shake the bag for ~10 seconds.

your body only metabolizes .004% of N20 so its just as good when you exhale it as when you first took it in.
so keep your baloon full for as long as possible and take 10 or so breaths in a row. One balloon could last you all night theorhetically.

Re: Nitrous Oxide and effects.
This whole thread reeks of dumb. "Let's fill the little pockets in our brain that O usually resides nicely in and fill in N2O" NO! wrong, why? I could say it would make you retarded, but if your making the effort to do something like this then you must already have an IQ below 70. I don't even see the point of doing it along side another drug. Drugs are wonderful things, no need to ruin them by literally fucking your brain up.
...end minor rant. carry on thread.

I find that a good, solid nitrous binge (e.g huffing straight from a tank or many whip-its in a row) leads to a euphoria that far outwighs any opiate I've ever experienced (oxys, smack, codeine, levorphanol etc)

Lol, "little pockets in our brain that O usually resides in"? What? People always pretend to know what they're talking about on BLTC, especially with anatomy for some reason. The oxygen levels in your body are usually able to sustain you for up to 2 minutes, then you run out of O2. Your brain can go easily 3 minutes without oxygen before becoming ischemic around 4-6 minutes. Irreversible brain damage is almost sure to occur around 8-10. As far as "little pockets where O resides" there is no such thing in your brain. The closest thing to that would be your alveoli in your lungs. The O2 binds to a Fe molecule in the center of the hemoglobin structure, and is replaced at the bodies cells with CO2. Basically, as long as you give yourself a little recovery time in betweens nitrous hits, you are not going to suffer any brain damage from lack of O2. i.e. you are wrong.
