so i got super drunk the other night, like a 5th of vsop brandy to myself. i woke up at about 8 and drove to work at 9, at about 9:30 when i got to work i took like 3-4 hits of some "mexican brick shit" 35 an oz on a hook-up

i walked inside and i felt a bit high but not to much else, then about 25-35 mins later i got this overwhelming feeling of dissociation, i smoked salvia for the first time about a month ago, and i got the same feeling like i just had smoked some 80x shit. i couldnt even handle working for about 30 mins (lucky i'm the manager and took a "bank run")

but i was wondering if this is some sort of sign of future mental problems (currently i am a multiple personality disorder and anitsocial personality disorder sufferer (if thats even a word))

but if freaked me out, to the point that i have never had before, some if any insight would be awesome

Then doing drugs will probably make reality a lot odder and more confusing then it already is.

well maybe its do to the fact that i cant get fired (well i could but the owner needs me to much) i dont think i could get fired even if i tried, its a small business and i do well at what i do (run 1 outta the two store that the owner, ownes)

i dont think so, i bought a oz of this shit, and still had about half left before i smoked this bowl, i was fine all the other times i smoked from this same oz, it wasnt even about being paranoid, it was a feeling of dissociation, like i was watching a movie through my own eyes, it was something i can never totally explain, cause it was so new to me, like i wasnt a person just a "watcher" of what was going on at the time

Don't smoke pot then. That is if you want to somewhat function in life given your situation.

Sounds like a panic attack. They just happen every now and then, sometimes they're minor but sometimes they can get really overwhelming. Your mental health, life-long and short-term (the hangover+weed), probably played a huge role in that.

Some people I know have panic attacks more than others. I've smoked weed on thousands of occasions and I've had only one serious attack. You basically just have to brush it off and realize it's a risk you take when you smoke weed.

i find that any type of stimulant + weed induces it...especially caffeine and sometimes even DL-Phen....adderall(amphetamine) and weed puts me in psychotic euphoria/disphoria.

Feelings of disassociation are extremely common during panic attacks, which it sounds like you had. I get really bad panic attacks every now and then and smoking weed does NOT help. Sometimes it causes you to panic by itself and then you're on a roller coaster ride through hell as you suffer the attack.

This is a classic and VERY common symptom of DID, which you have already been diagnosed with.

Psychedelics, including pot, are known to make it exceedingly easy for alters to take control, even through passive influence.

i was diagnosed almost 2 years ago (i'm newly 21) i have 3 confirmed alters, all this is unlike any panic attack i have had happened to me. maybe it was a panic attack but i dont think so, but yet i dont know

this is why i came to totse for my answers, ya'll are experienced in almost anything that could be a problem

Yeah, I doubt it was a panic attack. Any anxiety you experienced was most likely a side effect of the dissociation rather than a cause.

And that's bound to happen as a person with DID. It's a process called "passive influence", where one of the alters doesn't swap you out of consciousness and take direct control, but rather hijacks your behaviors and leaves the host personality conscious, causing the 'movie effect'

Maybe you wanna stop smoking weed. I honestly don't know if marijuana will worsen DID in long term, but it definitely does short term.

And if you're going to smoke weed, at least try to get better stuff. Mexi-schwag is commonly grown with all kinds of nasty pesticides.

i dont think its the weed in general, i have smoked weed for 4+ yrs and nothing like this, i'm definitely throwing out the rest of this oz (i know it wasnt actually from mexico, but the term mexican brick weed gives people the idea of the quality), and i'll definitely be sticking with the danky danks from now on

We're actually doing an in depth walkthrough of dissociative disorders (including DID) to close the semester in one of my psych classes.

My professor used the term "Passive Influence" to describe that mechanism, I'm 99% sure of it. Either way, I'll check my text book in a few minutes when I find my bookbag...
