Default quitting smoking

i want to quit smoking, but it is nearly impossible without help. patches do not work. i am asking if there have been any successful quitters and what you used to quit.

Altoids, gum, toothpicks, cannabis

I find it's more of a bad habit than a chemical addiction

No, smoking is fucking easy to quit, you only need the tiniest amount of willpower.

I found it easier to quit smoking cigs then to quit smoking weed, even though it's a physical addiction to nicotine.

Then I found morphine, and no desire to smoke weed again, but a big desire to start smoking again...

And thats after smoking since i was 12 and daily since i was 16 (now 20). it takes people years to break tobacco addiction, but everyone is different. O and i only quit smoking bud cuz im on probation, and house arrest which is why im on totse all the time.

I quit for two weeks then started again after being busted and evicted for weed(damn pigs!)

What helped me was substitution, I just drank a glass of warm tea w/ milk and it gave me something else to do.

Opiates always make me want to smoke a fuck-ton. Chain smoke until my lungs fall out of my mouth.

I actually quit smoking yesterday. I am trying the gum this time, and it's actually been a thousand times better than cold turkey. We'll see tomorrow, the third day is always the hardest.

Godspeed.

I found quitting smoking to be quite difficult. Probably more so then any other drug addiction I struggled with in the past. I know people who quit from all the various methods listed above and I could not tell you what makes one successful and another not.

For myself, I tapered off over 6 months. I happened to "luck out" by having a series of respiratory infections that made it difficult to smoke towards the end. I am just about at my fourth month of being nicotine free.
