Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
Last night I was thinking of how for the next year in highschool there is not really much I can do w/ my life aside from waiting it out.
I decided I want to be passive towards drug awareness and not some passive peice of shit who just gets high all the time and actually doesn't contribute to the positive construction and movement of society.
What are ways I can become politically active? I am not going to donate mopney to NORML who doesn't do anything productive. I don't want to donate money anyways, I think it is generally unproductive. The only people who visit NORML and MAPS are drug users. (MAPS is actually legit, though. If I had to donate money to a pro-drug organization it would be them.)
I was thinking about printing out small packets of information from verified legitiment sources, then going to a bunch of different popular parking lots (highschools, malls, shopping centers etc) and putting them in windshield wippers. Getting a highschool newspaper to publish a list of factual information etc.
This may not do much, but at least some people would read it (if 5% of every car I put on read it, this would satisfy me...1000 cars over a 7 day period equals 50 moar people who are moar educated and aware of drugs. These people can then at least make arguements w/ friends/family and try to convinse them).
What are some other ideas on how I or anyone else can spread awareness?
I honestly don't care THAT much, being as drugs are so easy and accessible anyways, but I like the thought that I would have something to do and am actually being productive instead of getting fucked up and sitting around all day.

Re: Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
I don't know. Spread knowledge? A lot of people i talk to have never done hallucinogens until i told them about my personal experiences. Eventually a few have tried and liked them and have told others. So it is like a chain reaction i suppose. I am basically talking about lsd and shrooms. Though awareness is good, it wont change much. Everything is too controlled to positively spread knowledge and awareness about the positive sides to such drugs to everyone. Nevertheless do what you feel will is necessary, but don't force it on people.
To spread it just talk to people about your experiences on such drugs. A lot of people will either become curious or disregard it because of the propaganda.

Not the worst idea I've heard. Pamphleteers have made a huge difference in history, just look at John Locke.
In this situation, I don't think dropping a bunch of pamphlets on some plebs will do much good. If you really care about this, and it's not some passing phase, you should go to law school or something, try to make a difference from the inside.

Re: Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
Ya, I was thinking of keeping the packets/phamphlets REALLY small so people could actually read them w/o saying TL;DR.
I'm thinking of doing one drug at a time on a phamphlet and using the following format:
Stating contradictions to common misbeliefs via facts from actual sources.
Stating why the government/industries would benefit from lieing to us and having them made illegal.
Stating that it is everyone's right and free will to do as they wish if they are smart about it unless they do not hurt others or the economy.
Stating the negative effects of the drug war and how it has not helped.
Stating how legalization would help harm reduction, because the abstinence theory does not work we need another option.
Any thing else to suggest?
What are other options aside from bullshit phamphlet-asshole techniques?

Re: Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
Get people high. Talk to them about social conditioning and how we're all being brainwashed by the media. Watch their jaw drop and their eyes lose focus as electrons fire off in their brain. Let them spread the same message.
If you hand out pamphlets, nobody will read them. If you put a bumper sticker on your car, nobody is going to take it seriously. If you put up flyers, nobody will see them... you have to interact directly with people in order to open them up to new ideas.
If you're serious about it, become a public speaker, do research about drugs, write articles and get them published, and get some legal precedence behind you. Otherwise everyone will just perceive you to be a hippie who won't shut up about "LEGALIZING IT!".

I do not need people to use drugs. I'm find w/ people who choose not to use drugs, that is there decision. I feel like they need to be moar open minded based on factual information instead of misinformation.
Most drug users don't even know there shit anyways. I hear bullshit ALL THE TIME about how this drug has this and that positive effect..both sides of the story suck dick.

If you really want to make some people mad, go to law school and become a congressional lobbyist.

Re: Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
I hope your fliers are going to be a bit more grammatically correct than your posts, otherwise you won't convince a single soul, and may possibly drive slightly pro drug, or neutral people to the other side.
Wanna make a difference? Go smoke a joint directly in front of the white house. Get out of jail and do it again. And again. And again. They can't keep you forever, since it's such a minor charge, and with the publicity it will rouse you MIGHT actually get people to realize that it's just a fucking joint.

Re: Becoming Active instead of a Passive Political Drug User
A good place for inspiration is any mass counter-cultural gathering. In Washington, we have something called Hempfest (http://hempfest.org/drupal/). A, HUGE, political rally/party. You can volunteer at one if you're state has one, they're great!
*It's really cool seeing a guy offering a cop a bong and the cop taking a hit, probably the only place you can find that.
**If you're interested, the pictures section really shows how big these events are
