Default The Teachings of Cannabis

So I have been smoking the green stuff for many years now, finding many types and many strengths of it. From the time I started college it only got more and more powerful. Finally, I found the most powerful medical green from California just across the street from me. It was glorious. I went an entire week of being constantly stoned on the best green Iv ever found.

And now the point. Last weekend I smoked more of it than ever, enough so that I could not actually hold the bong to smoke more. Then I layed on the couch for hours unmoving while watching a visualizer. Eventually, the visualizer poped of the screen and spoke without words into my mind. It basically said that it had shown me how to open my mind, but it has nothing left to teach. Even though this sounds small, It was one of the most profound drug experiences Iv ever had (even beating some of the hallucinogens).

Has anyone had profound experiences or just interesting things that have happend?

First, thank you troll. Second, no cannabis does not trigger schizophrenia; I would know, Im a psychology student that researches drugs.

Im sure someone else out there actually does drugs for intellectual reasons rather than doing drugs just to do drugs.

I don't do drugs. But "The link between cannabis and psychosis is well established...". Schizophrenia being a distinct type of psychosis but you get my drift. No one is saying that marijuana causes psychosis but it can definitely trigger it in someone who is already fucked up but symptom less. Besides the entire point of my post was not debate but rather to call you a faggot.

That's interesting, and sounds like an enjoyable experience, but what did it actually teach you? I can't see that you actuall got anything out of this, except perhaps personal satisfaction.

Well, before this I though I would find something by searching. In fact, I did find it. What I found was that there was nothing to find. I just happened to find it in quite a psychodelic way.

I was wondering if anyone else found this or anything else at the end of the of it all (the drugs).

Iv had this hypothesis for a while that cannabis is like a "spoonge" drug- taking effects from other drugs you have taken and incorporating them into the high. Anyone have info on this?

It definitely is true. You can hallucinate on cannabis if you get really really high. I have. Not once, but thrice. Open eye visuals were hard to get but my subwoofer turned into an eye and it freaked me out. Also, my blank dark window started turning into television. More paranoia than anything else but sigh is definitely altered.

Closed eye visuals were much more vivid. I was seeing disney characters in color against a black background, much like the dark window I mentioned earlier.

OP ain't lying. You also get the feeling wherein you suddenly know something. I try writing it down sometimes, usually I fail. When I'm sober I read it. Sometimes I'm surprised that it right. Sometimes it's completely dumb.

It's spelt sponge fuckwit.

Its spelt "spelled", dick monger. :D

And to the OP: You try too fucking hard. So you end up overlooking so much.

Everything has something to teach you. What is learned isn't so dependent on the teacher, as it is on the student.

Maybe you have just stumbled onto something I have never come across, but I'm not too sure if you're going about this the right way, or if you're just falling for materialistic lies, assuming "the answers" you seek will be found in those material substances.

Either way, what exactly have your experiences taught you?

Maybe I missed the part where you explained this, but, other then the pleasure of smoking different kinds of high quality bud and laying around watching visualizers, what has cannabis brought you? What has it taught you? To go online to shitty forums and try to share your experiences with people who mostly care nothing about that, and are mostly completely hedonistic in their drug use?

Is that what cannabis has taught you, to get really, really high? Sorry, maybe I missed the part where you said otherwise, but that seems to be about the extent of it. And if so, it is in my humble opinion that you are completely missing the point.

As the "Enlightened Truth", the cannabis-consumer-extraordinaire, I would assume you have read about people using pot as entheogen for thousands of years. But it seems like you missed that while many people may have used cannabis while trying to reach enlightenment, they did not have access to the quality you have, nor probably the quantity you have. Very small amounts of pot can be ingested when being used as an entheogen, to aid you in your search. It has much more to do with the user, then the substance being used.

Again, what do you think you have learned? You seem to think you are closer to some objective truth obtained by "enlightenment". But, in my opinion, if you still think you can know any truth such as that, you are no 'closer' then anyone else. If you think this, or anything truly matters, then you are still missing the point. If you truly desire anything, such as to be enlightened, to have this thread turn around for the better, or to look cool on totse, then you will never find happiness.

"The link between cannabis and psychosis is well established..."

Yes, and I agree that it can cause dormant metal problems to surface in certain individuals. But 'psychosis' is a term that can be bent many ways. It generally means "a mental state often described as involving a 'loss of contact with reality.'"

And what exactly is reality? Where does it begin and end? Is it real to laugh at things you normally wouldn't find humorous? And what exactly is 'humor', anyways? When I find something 'funny', isn't my reasoning completely illogical? Isn't 'humor' itself psychotic?

For these reasons, they have been able to make line between 'mental illness' and smoking pot a lot thinner. They have been able to say pot is much more likely to cause 'psychosis', using the word as a scare tactic.

But what if the user, for some reason, can't learn these "lessons" on their own? (due to brain chemistry and pychological conditions) and needs

Either way, what exactly have your experiences taught you?

In my experience, it has helped me overcome anxiety. It's allowed me to relax and unclutter my mind as to where I can enjoy life to the fullest extent. While it may not teach you "practical" skills, like how to do complex math or occupational-related insight, it does help with interpersonal relationships, personal satisfaction, and aids in "finding yourself" through introspection. True, this introspection and self-questioning can be done without marijuana, but it is harder due to the less relaxed state of mind.

Again, what do you think you have learned? You seem to think you are closer to some objective truth obtained by "enlightenment". While I don't think it causes 'enlightenment' (such a subjective word.. what does it really mean nyway?) it can allow you to think in a way that is alternative to sober-thinking, allowing for alternative perspective, views, and different ways to interpret things. This adds for a less biased, more well-rounded view of things. For me, it's helped me tremendously with relationships with others, helped me discover who I really was, and escape the biased, primordial emotions that go along with being human. Some might call that 'enlightenment'.

I do not search for enlightenment in cannabis; I think thats the wrong place to look. Up to this point it has been used mostly for minor mind expansion for writing or thinking about sociological ideas. It works amazingly for this. I only get really high when I first find a new type of it, and only to push its limits. To say I have learned nothing is an understatement; I just dont feel that the drug itself (unlike LSD or the like) has anything to actually teach users who are usually looking for answers to something.

Also, I spell it spoonge because it looks funny. Live with it.

Im glad someone sees where I am coming from (DonJabronyo).

Oh, wait, nevermind.

But anyway, OP, your first seems kinda like pseudo-intellectual bullshit, that type of shit usually doesn't go well on this forum. Anyway, I do beileve cannabis can be used as an entheogen, and a powerful one at that. I have found that it takes practice though, to achieve these profound altered states. It's not really the quality or quanity of the marijuana, just the intent of the user. I have always used marijuana to help myself to realize my true self, like the inner core of your being. Cannabis is very good for looking at your life philosophy in a new way, and it is also a useful tool to stop worrying about your place in the whole capitalist material world we live in.

Of course most people don't use it in this way, and are just looking for the euphoric body rapture effects of cannabis. I'm not saying that wrong or anything, just that it's not my preffered use. It also seems to me that the evolutionary/biological history of the human being and the cannabis plant are tied together very closley. Perhaps THC acts as sort of a hormone that comes from outside the body to assist in the evolution of human consciousness?

Not sure if you know this, but marijuana causes neurogensis (new brain-cell growth) in the prefrontal cortex.

I'm very aware of that and I think we should be working towards finding THC analogs that promote neurogenisis without causing the "high" that marijuana does. Until then though, THC sounds pretty good.

Music tends to help me 'trip out' as it were, when im stoned. I was in my friends car the other day and there was some dance/trance music playing the in background and i closed my eyes and could see a pacman style maze, with little blobs moving around in the passageways of the maze (I could see it form above) and with every bass beat of the music the dots got bigger then smaller, like lots of individual equalizers as the dots. Quite interesting and a very enjoyable experience.

You are all idiots, especially Captain Enlightened Truth, Cannabis Extraordinaire because he found the truth through WinAmp Visualizations.

You're supposedly a psychology student that researches drug. What field of psychology are you going into? What university are you enrolled in? To say that Cannabis does not, under any circumstances, trigger psychosis in those who are mentally unstable is completely absurd. Cannabis might not trigger psychotic states in your brain, but it could possibly trigger psychotic states in other people's brains...however you seem like a typical person interested in psychology.

"HMM, this is what's going on in my brain therefore it must be going on in everyone's brain. My way is true and right. Hrhrhr."

Also, if you were so well researched in drugs you would know, as Obbe has already stated, that Cannabis has been used as an entheogen for millenia, so you're not uncovering anything enlightening, new or interesting for that matter.

In fact, saying that people here only use drugs for their own pleasure sounds a whole lot like what you're doing, Mr. Enlightened I Sit On A Couch For A Week Straight Smoking Until I Can't Hit The Bong Anymore And My WinAmp Visualizer Starts Talking Sweet Nothings In My Ear Yet I Talk Down For People Using Drugs For Non-Entheogenic Purposes While I'm Doing The Same Thing Because I'm a Hypocritical Half-Witted Fuckface.

If you didn't find the Visualizer Voice in your head to be at all religious and you weren't so interested as to what's going on in YOUR own mind (hence your major), you'd be likely to not even enjoy indulging in Cannabis because you'd think that you were suffering from a psychotic episode with the delusional voices in your head.

So do I, for the most part, especially where bud is concerned. Actively seeking these experiences is one of the easiest ways to ensure you don't find them. I used to hang out with some guys who called all hallucinogens "entheogens", tripped three or four times a week, and were chasing some gnarly, and sometimes dangerous, delusions.

Hell, I've been there, chasing the same things in the same ways, but moments of truth aren't defined by how stoned, tripped out, or fucked up you were, but instead by the moments themselves.

You take this shit too seriously, and you'll end up just another burnt-out crazy or disillusioned cog.

Puck you actually have an amusing reply, Im not just messing with you. However, Im afraid you have it all wrong.

My statement above is simply describing my intense connection to cannabis and its ability to act as an entheogen as I see it in my mind. On this you were right. As for cannabis triggering psychosis, I first thought he said that it Developed psychosis- which would be wrong. In fact, cannabis only triggers psychosis in rare circumstances.

As for you picking on my college and profession, I simply reply that you have no idea what kind of college I go to; it is in fact one of the top medical colleges in the country.

And finally, if you disregard hallucinations written in my thread please leave the forum that deals with drugs- moron.

I don't have it all wrong, because my perception of what you said tells me everything I said was right. However, if you were capable of speaking clearly then you might not lead me astray.

What I was getting at in my post is that you're posting contradictions left and right. You're talking about people using drugs based upon their own hedonism, yet you spent an entire week stoned to the point where you couldn't hit the bong any more. That doesn't sound any more enlightening than smoking crack for three days straight, you feel me?

The first part of my post was not me picking on your professional career path and your university choices, it was simply me asking questions because I, too, am a Psychology major, and I was interested in how someone can claim they're a psychology student that researches t3h drugz could possibly be in a top tier medical university. Not that you need to prove yourself to me, I'm just losing faith in America's education system. We're really picking winners these days.

Just think, some day you'll be a psychologist telling other people how to live based on how your half-retarded mind (dys?)functions. You seem unable to correctly fashion your thoughts together in a coherent fashion, so it completely bewilders me how you're in "one of the top medical universities in the country".

Fuck your credentials, it doesn't mean shit if you don't have the ability to voice your thoughts in a coherent manner.

You also seem to have an inability to read, because if you did you would've realized that I never disregarded the fact that Cannabis can cause hallucinations, and then you proceeded to call me a moron because you're unable to catch the clearly stated message written in my post.

Your mind isn't beautiful or unique, it's the same as every other dumbfuck on this board. So basically, suck my balls and once again, get off your high horse.

1) -^^^- This man knows what he is talking about... 2)While this man - V V V- doesn't know what he is talking about.

One time I saw multiple faces of Quagmire from Family Guy superimposed on this lawn that I was just staring at on bud.

Lol, shouldn't an "enlightened" person understand how they are in complete control over how they react to any situation? The only reason anything could ever annoy you is because you have allowed it to affect you that way.

I guess your visualizer told you otherwise.

I think it most amusing how people on a drug forum have no respect for the experiences of others within drug culture. If you dont care, go elsewhere, I was simply sharing what I found with those who care. I would close this thread myself if I could.

I find it amusing you did not see this coming.

It is also amusing that you are not open minded enough to consider someone else's opinion ... such as the opinion of those of us who believe you are going about your decision to use entheogens in the wrong way, and you are no more 'enlightened' then any of the other materialistic hedonists who frequent this forum ... and instead just reconfirm your own position without a second thought.

Please, once and for all ... what has your usage of entheogens taught you? About reality, life, etc. Again, maybe I missed the post where you laid it all out, but it still seems like the height of your 'enlightenment' has been getting very, very stoned ... and thats it.

Yeah. And I hear fishermen enjoy fishing.

The entire point of this thread was to simply share the experience that taught me that I had been wasting my time looking for more and more answers from weed. I have found that it is time to move on to better things, drugs that still have something to teach. I have lost my love of cannabis and and happy for it. The only sad thing is that to see this I had to smoke more than I had ever smoked. Thats my only point.

On another note, the word play with my name is quite annoying. It simply states a goal not a title. Its simple really.

And I believe that this is not the conclusion you would have reached if you had actually been using pot as an entheogen, with meditation and etc. , instead of something to quench your hedonistic lust for materialism.
