where i live i think you're allowed to have up to an ounce of weed before it becomes a felony. I've heard that you can get in plenty of trouble though if you have say half an ounce and scale or half an ounce in 14, one gram baggies. anyone know how this works and how much more trouble you would get in. also if you were to have a pack of joints(10g in 0.5 intervals) would that same policy follow as if it was bagged up separate? thanks!

Not sure about American laws, but I know in England say you have an 8th in one baggy, it'll get confiscated, but if you have an 8th in two ten bits then you'll be arrested for possession with intent to supply.

As for joints, I reckon that'd just come under possession, but if you had a whole 10g rolled into joints it might not... I guess for this one it depends on the cop who questions you.

Multiple joints aren't usually a big deal because they usually fall under personal use. Now if you even have baggies without weed in them, you can still get felony possession with intent to sell. I've had a few friends go away for a long time for that bullshit.

I had to bags that were completely full cuz i had know different bags and they charged me with intent, which was bullshit cuz it was personal. i jsut didnt have a bigger bag. But it got dropped tho.

Here in NY its decriminalized. So possession of less than 25g has no penalty, until the 3rd offense. But if you have it in multiple bags you would get intent to sell, which can be a year in jail or a $1000 fine.

In NY anything under an ounce is a citation (ticket) for first and second offenses. Anything between 1 oz to 8 oz is a misdemeanor, and over 8 being a felony.

It's pretty simple. Get caught with an ounce you get done for possession. Get caught with an ounce in gram bags you get done for trafficking.

man... so what If you have 25 grams of bud bagged into 1 gram bags, you just like to be organized, right?

honestly, i don't see the point of bagging individual bags of say a gram or so. people do buy more than grams at a time.

if i do it, it wont be lower than quarters at a time. just for the sake of it being simple. people like checking out their weed before they buy it. why would you want to have 20 separate bags just to find out that someone wants to buy an amount equivalent to 15 of those bags. pain-in-the-ass to take all that out, re bag it, weigh it to make sure it's on spot, and you will still have 14 empty bags in your pocket, plus those 5 you still haven't sold. it's not worth it when you're trying to get rid of it..fast.

kinda got off track though, but all i'm trying to say that it seems like keeping it all in one sack would be the best way to go. i kinda described the selling part of it instead of the buying though..

The only possible way that might work was if there was no scale found, it was at your house and you had each marked with a date so you can say you allow yourself a gram a week - or day....That might fly, though I still doubt it.

Though there are also cases where you could be ok. One was like when I got stopped one the way home from the medical pot club w while ago. I had three 1/8's of different pot. The pot was clearly labeled and the paper bag they were in was also labeled from the club and was still sealed [I always keep it sealed until I get home]. I explained to the cop that I had three types of pot because they had different effects [one I use more for helping my stomach for when the morphine fucks it up, one I use when I need help going to sleep, and one I use to help deal with the pain so I can function during the day].

Cop didn't give me a hard time at all about it either. I didn't even get a ticket for having a taillight out either - another reason I love living where I do]. Of course, I have also noticed an over all change in cops attitudes since I hit 40 and stopped wearing my hair halfway down my back and wearing tie dye shirts...
