Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
Joints are the only thing i can smoke without hating the taste. Bowls just taste oily and gross. So i took up rolling. To be honest im not very good but getting better, but found a joint roller for like 5 dollars at a headshop near me.
So keep practicing or pick one up? Im pretty sure they can roll one tighter than ill ever be able to. It seems like its cheating to me. Rolling a good joint is like instant kudos.
Or am i just a fag who is an idiot and should stop posting here?
the papers i always use http://www.ryomagazine.com/may/randy3x.jpg

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
I have a joint roller, although I didn't have the same problems as you... I just wanted to try it out.
It rolls cigarette shaped joints really, hence why I'll roll up a whole pack of cigarettes with joints. I've actually lit one up in front of people out in the open in a very busy area and nobody noticed, not even the kid I was talking to. Everyone I guess assumed it was a cigarette, I don't think anyone smelled it though.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
It's quicker to roll a joint using hands than using a joint roller. I also get a much nicer roll using my hands.
So yes, it is a bitch move, especially cos joint rolling is a piece of piss.
Especially if you're using king slims. King broads are a bit more difficult due to more paper, and if you're only rolling with baby skins then I'll laugh at you so hard.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
learn a skill man , personally i cant roll but i know how to tightly round off then flip over and over a joint. basicly folding but its round. Theres always a way is the point , Buy some loose tobacco and practice at home with bible paper or phone book paper then step up your game and soon you'll have a real talent

I can almost guarantee you'll end up fighting with it more than you'll get to actually use the damn thing. They're a waste of money, imo. I just get fed up with them and roll them by hand without the stupid thing.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
the only papers i use are wired one. And they're on the longish side. Randy's wired hemp papers.
But ill keep practicing and may pick up the roller just for a more "professional" joint as optionryder420 said.

I don't know if you can get them in America, but you should use Rizla King Slim Blues, these:
http://www.everyonedoesit.co.uk/online_headshop/Rizla_Rolling_Papers__Blue_Kingsize_Slim.cfm?iProd uctID=5452
Probably not worth buying some papers and getting them shipped to America, but they are by far the easiest to roll joints with. Not too thick, and not too thin.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
Well, if you practice not only will you be able to roll a joint better than a joint holder, but you'll be able to roll it to just the way you like it.
Keep practicing. It can take months to get good (depending on how much you toke).
There's nothing wrong with a joint roller; and to be honest, if it's giving you a nicer smoke, just alternate how you roll until you get good enough to 'take your training wheels off', so to speak.

I was pretty bad at rolling but I got really good with practice.Just keep rolling and eventually you'll be a pro.
I never used a joint roller, but my friend made some really nice joints with one.

So, alternate what you use to roll. When you wanna really nice, tight smoke (with friends or whatever) use the roller. When you're on your own and want to practice your skills, roll up yourself.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
Randy's are pretty much the easiest paper to roll with. That being said, I personally wouldn't waste my money on a roller, just use a $20 bill, or whichever size is readily available.
I wouldn't call it a 'bitch' move, unless you're an insecure bitch who feels he needs to impress people.

I never liked the joints I got from a roller, and like everyone else I think you should practice and gain the new skill. There's hardly anything more satisfying than lighting up a perfect cone that you twisted up.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
Some people just can't roll on their own through no fault of their own. Even before I lost partial use of my left hand, I was unable to learn to roll - and I sure tried for years.
But fuck rolling machines. Just use a dollar bill. They work just as well - better even since they're easier to use. Plus you don't get busted for having money on you.

Joint roller is not a bitch move, but just make sure you learn how to sometime.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
I personally love rolling. But yeah, starting out sucks. Just develop a good technique. Once you roll a perfect joint a few times it shouldn't be too hard.
Fuck I could go for a joint right now...

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
If you're rolling loose joints try using 1.5 papers until you get better at it. They're longer so it's easier to roll a joint that's tight enough. Rollers are a pain in the ass but if you've got the time they roll nice and even.

I got one of those rollers and I barely use it. I guess I like hand rolling because I can make it tighter. But if your looking for that nice cigarette looking joint, buy one.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
Well IMO they make nice looking joints, but it is a real hassle and only really rolls skinny j's.
i roll my own though, from the first j i rolled i've been able to do them pretty decently (just think about not spilling any weed, and somehow touching the glue to the other side, and it'll work out..), now i'm a little better though.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
My family uses 2, as we all (except my mother) have CMT-Type 1 Peroneal Muscular Atrophy. It's very easy to use, and can roll some pretty fat joints; but over time they start to favor one side of the roller. This results in one tight end. I prevent this by placing a rolled-board filter on the end my rollers favor. We've had ours for... at little over a year now? I like em, even though I can roll by hand (Albeit painfully).

spend 15 dollars and buy a tin of tops, sit there and roll all 200 cigs and then if you still need practice, get a roller. Also, try rolling over a flat surface so you can collect what you spill and pack it in(you'll most likely spill a 6th of your bud when you don't roll well.
Side note:I am currently trying to learn how to roll joints with one hand, If anyone can roll a decent joint with one hand, give me some tips. =)

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
if you smoke cigs it makes it way easier to roll rollies, and yeah, it makes it easier to roll joints. but, I'd say unless you really suck at rolling, just keep practicing hand-rolling; you'll get better the more you do it.
I've had a few rollers in the past, usually for rolling cigs, but now that I stopped smoking cigs regularly I just roll my joints by hand.

Re: Is getting a joint roller a bitch move?
I think you should learn how to roll. I like bowls a lot better than joints and I own 8 , so I rarely roll joints. Having a roller is nice because I don't know how to roll since I never needed to learn, but for you it would just discourage you from ever learning.
