OK, so recently i have been thinking about checking myself into a methadone clinic, but i dont know anyone who has been to one and i do not know what to expect. I would appreciat some advice from someone who has been before.
A coulple of my main questions: Do they do blood work?(im hyper parinoid about other people using needles on me) Piss tests? and anythin else i should be ready for before i go in.....thanks in advance!

Their going definitely going to test you. Blood test I think. Their not going to give methadone to anyone.

Yes, in most cases, they will do blood work (After a few weeks to a month) to see what levels of Methadone are in your body and if you are at the correct dose, as for piss tests, yes and they are completely random (At least once a month) at 99% of the clinics. So don't get paranoid about a blood test right away, however, they will want to prick you with a needle for a TB test within the first week (To make sure you don't have it) which is not bad at all. And as far as the first piss test, it will most likely be on the first dosing day (Or before) to make sure you have opiates in your system and are indeed dependent on them.

Well with my experience in the ones in the Detroit area, you will not have to give blood. Also they did not test my urine except for the initial visit to make sure I had opiates in my system.

Then again it was a clinic near eight mile, and they handed out methadone like it was candy. But your on the right track OP. Just don't get hooked on methadone, it is horrible. Your taking a step in the right direction by going though. Good luck on your path to opiate sobriety.
