Adrafinil and its metabolic cousin
Over the course of the next month, I intend to take the stimulant, Adrafinil, to help with my college work and revision etc.
I'm trying to go into this with my eyes open, but there is little analogous information on the internet. What I need to know is:
-How effective is it as a study/general concentration aid?
-Are there any *serious* side effects (skin irritations can't be too bad...?)?
-Is it illegal?
As far as I am aware, Adrafinil is perfectly legal in the UK without prescription, while Modafinil (apparently a more potent and fast-acting form) requires a doctor's permission.
Some of you may believe me to be stupid or a cheat, but please remember that there is little information out there intended for a recreational user. So please forgive my ignorance if you can present a valid argument against this course of action.

Re: Adrafinil and its metabolic cousin
A little disclaimer:
The previous post was written as a narrative, from the point of view of someone who would want to try Adrafinil. Despite all information I have received about the legality of Adrafinil and despite any information given in that text, it is merely meant as a hypothetical scenario.

Re: Adrafinil and its metabolic cousin
I don't know about Adrafinil, but I've been using Modafinil (without a prescription, bought easily from the net on a UK-based site) for about 6 months now.
It's great as a 'wakefulness' substance. It will NOT get you tweaked or anything, does not have any recreational use, but is excellent at keeping you up. It doesn't keep you awake as such, it basically turns off your need for sleep.
It's damn strong too - I took 400mgs first time I got it (without realising how powerful) at about 2pm. I went on a night out, I was able to drink about 3 times as much as I normally do without puking, had to actually drink to myself to sleep, finally got to bed around 4am, woke up at 9am feeling absolutely fine - no tiredness or hangover.
I love it.

I'm actually more interested in the concentration and memory-enhancing aspects of the drug. Both are, in effect, the same thing as Adrafinil metabolises in Modafinil in the body. The only reason I want to use the former is because it is so much cheaper.
